The Lead Guest Services Specialist is a part of the Product Sales & Service Department.  This position is responsible for satisfying and exceeding guest expectations by delivering outstanding guest experiences through resort and product knowledge.  The Product Sales & Service Department is a high-volume department with a large amount of guest service interaction.   This Lead assists with daily operations and communications for the Kids Ski School.  This Lead may also rotate to the Ticket & Season Pass Office, Call Center, Northstar Sports, Private Lesson Office, and any Ski and Snowboard School booking office.

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of all resort product offerings, those within the Product Sales and Service department and Kids Ski & Board School, as well as those throughout the resort. 
  • Understand and effectively communicate Season Pass, Ticket, Private Lessons, Adult Ski and Snowboard School, and Kids Ski and Snowboard School options to ensure guests are matched with the best product to suit their needs.
  • Provide accurate resort, village, and local information to the guest. 
  • Deliver exceptional guest service to internal and external guests.
  • Communicate in a courteous and respectful manner to all internal and external guests.
  • Assist in the resolution of all guest complaints; handle difficult guest problems in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Assist management with new employee training.
  • Assist in the training, supervising, and guiding of staff to achieve specific goals and objectives.
  • Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.
  • Ensure each location has adequate supplies to perform the day-to-day operations based on business volume.
  • Accurately, efficiently, and independently process lift access products while capturing guest data.
  • Sell lessons, lift tickets, rentals, and retail; assist with the rental process when needed.
  • Display accurate cash handling skills; perform daily sales and close procedures while following company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot product issues and follow up with the appropriate staff or guest.
  • Understand corporate and resort specific policies and procedures.
  • Establish personal strengths and areas of focus through self-assessment and on-going training and feedback from the Northstar Management Team; participate in all departmental and resort training and development courses.
  • Actively work in all areas of Product Sales and Service and/or in any areas of the Northstar Resort.
  • Work cooperatively with the Kids Ski & Board School management team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must enjoy working with people of all ages.
  • Ability to learn and speak intelligently about ALL of the resort products offered.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous guest service experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with a good understanding of Microsoft Windows preferred.
  • Prior experience with Resort POS software preferred; at minimum, a desire to learn and master the various modules and the products they contain.
  • Prior cash handling experience preferred
