Job Summary:

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible for managing the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are maintained. This position will provide oversight of guest rooms and public areas, and management of all housekeeping activities including budget reviews, ordering supplies, scheduling, staffing, contract staff management, room inspections, as well as training, disciplining, and developing seasonal and year-round employees.   • The budgeted range starts at [[$25.00- $28.00]].  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

 

Job Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the day to day housekeeping operations including daily opening/closing procedures and issuing staff assignments.
  • Check and maintain adequate level of supplies and material and request replenishment of supplies as required.
  • Ensure the correct handling of lost guest property in accordance with Resort procedures.
  • Manage onsite Laundry Operations.
  • Evaluate guest satisfaction levels and monitor trends through guest survey and other means, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Operate within departmental budgets through effective stock and cost controls and well managed schedules.
  • Set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, and ensure that company’s policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Conduct, direct, and participate in all departmental inventories; keep records of all inventories for future references.
  • Maintain good communication and work relationships within all departments in the hotel, and with external customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure staffing levels cover business demands.
  • Ensure regular staff meetings are conducted, post-meeting minutes generated, and follow-up items completed.
  • Manage staff performance issues in compliance with Vail Resorts policies and procedures.
  • Recruit, manage, train and develop the Housekeeping team; conduct ongoing trainings for existing and new staff.
  • Maintain good communication and relationships with units/rooms owners, and respond to their requests promptly and professionally.
  • Inspect rooms and provide ongoing feedback to the team.
  • Leading the daily operations of the Housekeeping department and providing support to the Housekeepers.
  • Additional tasks as required.

 

Job Requirements:

  • At least two years of Housekeeping management experience – required.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaking ability MUST 
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within and outside Housekeeping department.
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve with guests, employees, and various other departments within the resort.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 65 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must have excellent organization and computer skills.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred:

  • HOA property experience 
  • Housekeeping Experience

 

The expected pay range is $25.00 - $28.00. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
