OVERVIEW: 
 

Supervisors are responsible for assisting in the management of the sales, staff, operational and merchandising functions of the store to attain maximum profitability, productivity, and a world - class guest experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include (but are not limited to): 

  • Maintain all company paperwork according to policies and standards
  • Full fill manager-on-duty responsibilities when scheduled
  • Assist in maintaining and administering operational expectations by following company policies and guidelines
  • Maintain and model high retail, merchandising and cleanliness standards as set forth by the Store and Regional Manager
  • Assist Store Manager to ensure sales are generated while demonstrating and maintaining an enthusiastic and professional
  • standard of guest service
  • Maintain all company paperwork according to policies and standards
  • Assist Store Manager in monitoring and controlling daily operational budgets, including payroll
  • Assist Store Manager in recruiting and maintaining a quality core staff
  • Assist in on boarding and training of new employees in POS, product knowledge, guest service, and sales
  • Assist Store Manager in communicating company values and goals to the employees
  • Manage inventory control and meet or exceed inventory goals
  • Enforce company cash handling and other Loss Prevention policies and procedures
  • Remain current on new industry products and trends; demonstrate knowledge of products
  • Be energetic, motivated and possess the ability to multi task
  • Communicate ideas or issues with the store manager
  • Be able to work late shift after store closes to check in boxes
  • Have a strong command of MMS
  • Be able to train incoming sales associates our Vail Resorts Retail GUIDE Sales technique
  • Black out date availability and enforcement of scheduling

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
 

  • 3 years of retail experience, preferably within the outdoor industry
  • 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
  • Familiarity with rental and retail POS systems preferred
  • Ability to communicate fluently with co-workers and guests in accurate spoken and written English Snowsports background
  • Maintain a working knowledge of products and trends within the industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to our guests
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule; including nights, holidays and weekends
  • Previous experience in rentals and rental POS (preferred)
  • Must be able to work in a high volume fast-paced retail location


SCHEDULE: 

 

As an employee of Vail Resorts you understand that there are critical times during the season that your

presence is crucial. The following are dates are your black out dates for requesting more than 2 days off during that week.

  • November 21st - November 29th (Thanksgiving)
  • December 22nd –January 1st (Christmas and New Year’s)
  • January 17th – January 19th (Martin Luther Weekend)
  • February 14th – February 17th (Presidents Day Weekend)
  • March  (Spring Break) – there will be flexibility during this month, but limited
  • April 3rd – April 12th (Spring Break)
