Job Summary: 

The Golf Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall management and maintenance of the Carroll Valley Golf Course and surrounding grounds. This role oversees all turf, landscape, equipment, and clubhouse grounds maintenance operations, as well as the supervision and development of the golf maintenance team. This role also plans and manages annual maintenance and capital budgets, schedules and directs daily maintenance activities, and ensures accurate recordkeeping, including pesticide applications. Regular communication with pro shop staff is essential to align course conditions with operational goals and guest expectations. The position requires advanced knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management, strong administrative and problem solving abilities, and a thorough understanding of golf course operations and regulations.

Job Specifications:  

  • Starting Wage: $56,669.98 - $79,241.37+annual bonus

  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available 

  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the golf course, including the golf course, flower beds and surrounding areas, maintenance equipment, clubhouse grounds, and the nursery. 
  • Interview, hire, train, direct and supervise asst. mgr. of golf maintenance, team lead, golf maintenance technicians and gardening staff. 
  • Schedule and assign routing of personnel and equipment to accomplish daily work. 
  • Develop preparation of annual maintenance and capital budgets; plan maintenance projects to accomplish long-range goals 
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance procedures, and pesticide applications, including the purchase of materials 
  • Communicate regularly with pro shop staff to discuss activities, plans, goals, and member/guest input. 
  •  Exercise judgment in evaluating systems, inform supervisor of potential problems and take corrective action when deemed necessary. 
  • All other duties as assigned. 

  

Job Requirements: 

  • 2- or 4-year degree in Turf Grass Management or related field. 
  • Three years’ experience as a Class A Superintendent preferred. 
  • Three years’ experience supervising a golf maintenance staff. 
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Member of Golf Course Superintendents Association of America or interest in joining..
  • Category 7 PA Pesticide license. 
  • Moderate computer skills. 
  • English necessary – Additional language proficiency is welcome. 
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills. 
  • Requires a high degree of administrative ability, especially problem solving and decision making, knowledge of current federal, state and local laws affecting the management of golf course operations and participating in continuing education. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. 
  • Equipment repair and knowledge of Toro Lynx irrigation systems. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The expected pay range is $56,669.98 - $79,241.37+annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
