Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned and motivated General Manager to lead the daily operations of Wall Bar, a full-service, lunch-only restaurant located at Kirkwood Ski Resort. Known for its upscale pub fare and vibrant bar service, Wall Bar offers a premium dining experience for skiers and riders in the heart of the mountain village. This role is perfect for a hands-on leader who thrives in seasonal, high-volume environments and is passionate about delivering outstanding guest service.

Wall Bar is located at the base of the mountain in “The Village—a central gathering point at Kirkwood. Open five months out of the year during the winter season, this 130-seat full-service restaurant is a go-to après spot for resort guests. The menu features elevated pub classics, and the full bar draws a lively ski crowd midday.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Restaurant Operations
    • Oversee daily service, ensuring smooth lunch operations and exceptional guest experiences.
    • Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and overall restaurant presentation.
    • Coordinate bar and kitchen operations to ensure timely, consistent service.
    • Uphold all resort and brand standards in food safety, service, and sanitation.
  • Team Leadership
    • Hire, train, and supervise seasonal FOH and BOH team members.
    • Foster a culture of communication, accountability, and professionalism.
    • Lead daily pre-shift meetings, ongoing training, and performance evaluations.
    • Manage labor scheduling aligned with budget and business volume.
  • Financial & Inventory Management
    • Monitor sales, labor, and cost of goods to achieve financial goals.
    • Perform and submit accurate monthly inventory counts; maintain appropriate stock levels.
    • Prevent waste and shrinkage through effective ordering and inventory control.
    • Collaborate with culinary leadership on menu execution and updates.
  • Guest Service & Experience
    • Address and resolve guest feedback in a timely, service-oriented manner.
    • Create a welcoming, energetic environment that enhances the resort experience.
    • Serve as a brand ambassador for Wall Bar and Kirkwood Mountain Dining.

 

Job Requirements :

  • 3–5 years of restaurant management experience (preferably in high-volume or resort settings).
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to manage and motivate seasonal staff.
  • Serve Safe Manager, TIPs, and RBS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS systems (InfoGenesis), scheduling software (Legion), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and snow days as needed.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs.

The expected pay range is Starting at $68,640.00. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
