Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented Front of House Assistant General Manager (AGM) to help lead daily guest-facing operations at Snowshoe Thompsons, a high-volume, family-focused cafeteria located at Kirkwood’s Timber Creek base. Open for breakfast and lunch throughout the winter season, Snowshoe Thompsons serves hundreds of guests daily—including ski school families, beginners, and those enjoying Timber Creek’s accessible terrain.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment and takes pride in creating a warm, efficient, and well-organized dining experience. The FOH AGM will lead the day-to-day service flow, support a diverse team, and ensure every guest is welcomed, served, and satisfied.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: Starting at $25.00/hr 

  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2025/2026

Job Responsibilities:

  • Front of House Leadership
    • Oversee all FOH operations including cafeteria line service, beverage station, dining area, and bar service.
    • Manage guest flow during peak periods, ensuring fast, friendly, and efficient service.
    • Support daily opening and closing routines, including dining room setup, cleanliness checks, and POS preparation.
    • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the dining room, condiment stations, and tray return areas.
  • Guest Experience & Service Quality
    • Lead by example with a friendly, helpful, and solution-focused guest service approach.
    • Respond to guest concerns or feedback professionally and in real-time, creating positive resolutions.
    • Maintain a family-friendly dining atmosphere, paying special attention to the needs of beginners and families.
  • Team Supervision & Development
    • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of FOH staff including cashiers, bussers, food runners, and bar attendants.
    • Provide shift leadership and day-to-day support to a seasonal team.
    • Foster strong team communication and encourage a culture of accountability, hospitality, and professionalism.
    • Offer coaching, performance feedback, and recognition in partnership with the outlet’s General Manager.
  • Bar Oversight
    • Supervise daily bar operations, including cleanliness, setup, and compliance with responsible alcohol service practices.
    • Ensure bar inventory is tracked, rotated, and restocked appropriately.
    • Maintain high standards of guest safety and team training around beverage service.
  • Operational Coordination
    • Collaborate closely with the BOH team to ensure smooth food delivery and service efficiency.
    • Help manage line flow, food handoff, and real-time adjustments during weather or resort-driven traffic spikes.
    • Monitor FOH product par levels and communicate needs to the culinary team.
  • Sustainability & Clean Dining
    • Support Kirkwood’s Commitment to Zero goals through staff training and best practices around waste and recycling.
    • Ensure proper waste sorting and tray return systems are used and maintained throughout service.
    • Assist in keeping all guest-facing areas clean, safe, and inviting.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of FOH leadership experience in high-volume, quick-service, or cafeteria-style environments
  • Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through busy shifts with energy and positivity
  • Working knowledge of POS systems, bar operations, and basic food safety principles
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and in winter mountain weather
  • ServSafe Manger Certification, TIPs, and RBS (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs

Preferred:

  • Experience in family-focused or resort-based food service
  • Confidence in supporting bar service and alcohol compliance
  • Friendly, approachable, and guest-first demeanor
  • Passion for outdoor adventure, skiing, or snowboarding is a plus!

 

The expected pay range is Starting at $25.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
