Job Summary:

We’re looking for a service-driven and organized Front of House (FOH) Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of Wall Bar, Kirkwood’s premier lunch-only, full-service restaurant. This role works closely with the General Manager to lead front-of-house staff, ensure exceptional guest service, and maintain smooth, efficient lunch service during the winter season. Ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys mentoring teams, and brings a hands-on leadership style to every shift.Wall Bar is located in the heart of The Village at Kirkwood Mountain Resort. Open during the winter season, this 130-seat restaurant serves upscale pub fare and a full bar, offering skiers a lively and elevated dining experience just steps from the lifts.

Job Responsibilities:

Guest Service & Dining Experience

  • Ensure smooth and timely FOH operations during lunch service.
  • Greet guests, resolve concerns professionally, and maintain a welcoming dining atmosphere.
  • Support service standards through floor supervision and table touchpoints.
  • Assist with bar and beverage service coordination during high-volume periods.

Team Support & Leadership

  • Lead FOH staff in daily opening, shift, and closing procedures.
  • Help train new team members on service protocols, POS use, and safety guidelines.
  • Coach staff in the moment and assist with performance feedback as directed by the General Manager.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.

Operations & Coordination

  • Monitor table turns, server sections, and overall dining room flow.
  • Support accurate order entry and delivery through POS systems (InfoGenesis).
  • Assist with inventory tracking for FOH supplies (e.g., menus, cleaning products, service tools).
  • Collaborate with BOH leadership for food timing, allergy protocol, and guest communication.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all FOH staff follow resort, health, and liquor service regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization across all front-of-house spaces.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to the General Manager.

Sustainability & Operational Support

  • Support the implementation of Commitment to Zero sustainability and recycling initiatives at the outlet, in coordination with the Resort Sustainability Manager.
  • Assist in training staff on Commitment to Zero programs, ensuring understanding of related expectations and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Provide hands-on assistance with waste sorting at outlet waste stations when needed.
  • Maintain high standards for food preparation, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including regular evaluation of outlet waste systems and diversion programs.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 1–2 years of supervisory or lead experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of POS systems (InfoGenesis) and basic office software (Excel, Word).
  • Must be able to work extended hours during peak periods, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, move quickly in a busy dining room, and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Serve Safe Food Handler, TIPS, and RBS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).

The expected pay range is Starting at $25.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
