Job Summary:

From first chair to last call – Monte Wolfe’s is the place to be. We are seeking a dynamic and service-driven Front of House Assistant General Manager (AGM) to help lead daily guest-facing operations at Monte Wolfe’s, Kirkwood’s busiest and most iconic lunch destination. Located in the heart of the Village, this cafeteria-style restaurant is known for fast-paced service, delicious mountain meals, and a welcoming après-ski atmosphere featuring a full-service bar and outdoor BBQ.

Open for breakfast and lunch, Monte Wolfe’s serves hundreds of skiers and riders daily—from early risers chasing first chair to hungry families fresh off the slopes. This is a high-volume, high-energy role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, leads with positivity, and is passionate about providing top-tier service in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Front of House Operations:

  • The FOH AGM will oversee and maintain inventory for all front-of-house items, including beverage products, service-ware, paper goods and cleaning supplies. Duties include performing regular counts, updating inventory records, monitoring usage trends, submitting purchase orders, and ensuring supplies are stocked to support smooth daily operations while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
  • Supervise and lead all FOH service areas including cafeteria line, bar, outdoor grill, and dining room.
  • Ensure smooth guest flow through all service touchpoints, especially during peak traffic hours.
  • Assist with day-to-day setup, service execution, and breakdown across all FOH zones.
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and organization of the dining room.

 

Guest Service & Atmosphere:

  • Model outstanding guest service and uphold Monte Wolfe’s friendly, efficient, and guest-first culture.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, maintaining a welcoming and positive dining experience.
  • Support staff during peak times with a focus on energy, engagement, and speed.

 

Team Supervision & Training:

  • Lead, train, and mentor a diverse FOH team including cashiers, food runners, bussers, and bar staff.
  • Support onboarding, scheduling, and daily shift leadership.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and clear communication among team members.
  • Provide real-time coaching and performance support in partnership with the GM.

 

Bar & Beverage Oversight:

  • Oversee daily bar operations, including setup, cleanliness, and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service policies and guest safety standards.

 

Operational Coordination:

  • Collaborate closely with BOH and culinary teams to ensure fast and accurate food delivery to guests.
  • Assist with crowd control and line flow management during peak meal periods.
  • Help adjust staffing and service models as needed to respond to resort events, weather, or guest volume.

 

Sustainability & Clean Dining Initiatives:

  • Promote and support resort-wide Commitment to Zero sustainability goals.
  • Ensure proper sorting of waste and recycling, and train FOH team members on best practices.
  • Maintain clean and efficient tray return and waste management systems.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of FOH leadership experience, preferably in high-volume, quick-service, or bar environments
  • Serve Safe Manager, TIPS, and RBS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • Strong communication(bilingual preferred), multitasking, and team leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through busy shifts with energy and professionalism
  • Basic understanding of bar service, POS systems, and food safety practices
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and winter weather conditions
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs

 

Preferred Traits:

  • Experience in resort food service or cafeteria-style dining
  • Comfortable supporting or overseeing bar service in a high-volume setting
  • Warm, friendly, guest-centered demeanor with an eye for hospitality
  • A passion for skiing, snowboarding, or mountain life is a plus!

 

The expected pay range is Starting at $25.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
