Job Summary

Keystone Mountain Operations is seeking an experienced and motivated leader to join our Lift Experience Team in a seasonal capacity. This role is responsible for supporting high-quality, safe, and efficient lift operations during winteroperations.

The Seasonal Assistant Manager plays a key role in executing day-to-day operations, supporting seasonal hiring and training efforts, and maintaining a high standard of guest service and team performance. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Working closely with the Lift Experience Senior Manager, Manager, Assistant Managers, and Lift Experience Supervisors, this role helps ensure successful seasonal operations by driving team accountability, supporting frontline staff, and fostering a positive and engaging work environment.

A successful candidate will bring a strong operational mindset, the ability to make timely decisions, and a passion for developing people while delivering an exceptional guest experience

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations of the Lift Experience Team, ensuring safety, efficiency, and exceptional guest service standards are consistently met.
  • Provide direct oversight and support to Lift Experience Supervisors and frontline staff during peak seasonal operations.
  • Assist with seasonal ramp-up efforts including hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees.
  • Ensure supervisors and teams are equipped with the tools, resources, and information needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Monitor and reinforce compliance with all regulatory and safety standards (CPTSB, OSHA, ANSI, USFS).
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance across the team.
  • Assist in communicating policies, procedures, and operational updates in a timely and effective manner.
  • Participate in coaching, recognition, and disciplinary processes to maintain team standards.
  • Support labor and staffing adjustments based on daily business levels and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with resort leadership and other departments to ensure smooth, coordinated operations.
  • Identify and support development opportunities for high-potential employees.
  • Assist in end-of-season ramp-down processes and operational transitions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of lift operations or mountain operations experience
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment in varying weather conditions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Intermediate to advanced skiing or riding ability

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or other post-secondary education
  • Experience with seasonal operations or large-scale staffing environments
  • Familiarity with resort systems (payroll, scheduling, purchasing, etc.)
  • Experience in a KPI-driven or high-volume operational environment
  • Knowledge of company systems, policies, and procedures

 

The expected pay range is $25.00/hr - $32.14/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
