Job Summary:

The Retail Supervisor at the Build a Bear store is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, generating sales, merchandising, and safeguarding company assets. Acts as store department lead and helps ensure the department had appropriate inventory levels.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $23.00/hr - $24.73/hr
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2025/2026
  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age
  • Housing Availability: Yes

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional guest service by assisting guests of all ages in creating their personalized furry friends, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience
  • Actively engage with guests demonstrating genuine enthusiasm for the Build-A-Bear brand
  • Create a warm and inclusive atmosphere for guests, fostering positive interactions, and guaranteeing that each guest leaves satisfied with their experience
  • Drive sales and evaluate trends to identify opportunities for growth, while maintaining high standards of guest service
  • Lead store operations including opening/closing, inventory control, accurate pricing, and adherence to cash handling and loss prevention policies
  • Train, mentor, and communicate effectively with team members to support a positive and productive work environment
  • Ensure shelves and displays are stocked and visually appealing to support sales and guest experience
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall store performance and team success

 

Job Requirements:

  • Previous retail sales experience
  • Ability to communicate fluently with co-workers and guests in accurate spoken and written English
  • Ability to maintain a working knowledge of products and trends within the industry
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule; including nights, holidays and weekends
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

 

The expected pay range is $23.00/hr - $24.73/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
