Job Summary:
The Director of Spa & Guest Experience is a key member of the pre-opening leadership team, responsible for shaping, implementing, and sustaining the guest experience vision across Kindred Resort. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the Spa & Wellness operation while serving as the cultural steward for guest service standards throughout the property.
The Director will architect the end-to-end guest journey—from pre-arrival through departure—ensuring all touchpoints reflect Kindred’s brand pillars of Active Luxury, Campfire Luxury, and Kindred Spirits. This position leads the development and execution of resort-wide guest service training, empowering teams to deliver anticipatory, personalized, and emotionally engaging service.
Post-opening, the Director will oversee daily spa operations, guest experience programming, service recovery, training, and continuous improvement, while partnering closely with resort leadership to drive guest satisfaction, team engagement, and financial performance.

Job Responsibilities:
Pre-Opening Responsibilities:
Brand Implementation & Culture Activation
- Champion the Kindred brand across all guest experiences, ensuring service delivery reflects the ethos of Active Luxury, Campfire Luxury, and Kindred Spirits.
- Collaborate with resort leadership and department heads to embed guest experience philosophy, service language, and emotional hospitality into all operational areas.
- Develop signature service moments, wellness rituals, and experiential programming unique to the mountain environment.
Spa & Wellness Development
- Lead the pre-opening planning and launch of the Spa & Wellness operation, including treatment menu development, retail strategy, pricing, and guest flow.
- Partner with design, ownership, and project teams to ensure spa spaces support luxury operations, guest comfort, and staff efficiency.
- Define service standards, SOPs, and wellness programming aligned with seasonal demand and luxury wellness trends.
Talent Acquisition & Training
- Develop organizational structure and job descriptions for spa and guest experience roles.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and leadership development for spa and guest experience teams.
- Design and deliver resort-wide guest service training focused on luxury standards, emotional intelligence, recovery, and anticipatory service.
- Facilitate cross-functional culture immersion and service storytelling for all associates.
Guest Journey & Experience Design
- Architect the full guest journey across the resort, identifying opportunities to surprise, delight, and personalize each stay.
- Establish service rituals, brand moments, and escalation protocols for VIP, residence owners, and special guests.
- Develop service recovery frameworks and empowerment guidelines for frontline teams.
Technology & Systems Implementation
- Oversee implementation of spa systems, scheduling platforms, POS, and guest communication tools.
- Create SOPs for spa operations, guest interactions, service recovery, and wellness programming.
- Partner with Operations, Finance, and IT to ensure systems support guest personalization and operational efficiency.
Post-Opening Responsibilities:
Spa & Guest Experience Leadership
- Provide day-to-day oversight of Spa & Wellness operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, financial performance, and brand alignment.
- Serve as the resort’s guest experience champion, ensuring consistency and excellence across all departments.
- Maintain a visible, hands-on presence engaging with guests and teams throughout the resort.
Training, Culture & Team Performance
- Lead ongoing guest service training, coaching, and performance development across the property.
- Build a service-driven culture rooted in kindness, authenticity, and accountability.
- Support department leaders in reinforcing service standards, team engagement, and recognition.
Guest Satisfaction & Reputation Management
- Monitor guest feedback, surveys, and online reputation metrics; translate insights into actionable improvements.
- Lead guest recovery efforts for elevated service situations and ensure timely, thoughtful resolution.
- Drive continuous improvement to meet or exceed luxury brand benchmarks and guest satisfaction goals.
Financial Management
- Partner with the General Manager and Finance team to forecast, budget, and manage spa revenues and expenses.
- Monitor labor, retail performance, and operating supplies to ensure financial efficiency.
- Develop action plans to optimize spa profitability while preserving guest experience integrity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales, Marketing, and Residences to ensure cohesive guest experiences.
- Support marketing initiatives related to spa positioning, wellness storytelling, and experiential programming.
- Collaborate with Engineering on preventive maintenance and spa facility standards.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury hospitality, spa, wellness, or guest experience roles.
- Proven experience leading spa operations within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
- Experience in pre-opening environments and guest experience design strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success building service training programs and hospitality culture.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and performance metrics.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with a hands-on management style.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Spanish language skills preferred.
The expected pay range is $58,461.98 - $90,000.00 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
