Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and service-driven Hotel Manager to support the successful launch and ongoing operations of our new luxury hotel. This pivotal role provides cross-functional support to all departments, ensuring excellence in hiring, onboarding, training, compliance, and employee experience.

The Hotel Manager will work closely with department heads to coordinate pre-opening activities, implement brand and operational standards, and foster a positive, performance-driven culture. This role also delivers ongoing administrative and tactical support, helping to optimize day-to-day operations and maintain seamless communication across all areas of the hotel.

Ideal candidates will bring strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for creating a world-class employee and guest experience.

 

Job Specifications: 

  • Outlet: Kindred Resort 
  • Expected Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000 + annual bonus, Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience 
  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time / Year Round 
  • Expected Start Date: July 1, 2025 

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Vail’s systems and departments
  • Able to fully support reading, writing, conversations and training in both English and Spanish.
  • Intermediate Excel - required
  • Detail oriented on assigned tasks and the ability to follow through to a conclusion
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and drive production through completion
  • Ability to work successfully in a strong team environment
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly - required

 

Pre-Opening Responsibilities – Hotel Manager

  • Support recruitment efforts across all departments, coordinating interviews and hiring logistics
  • Lead onboarding and orientation programs to ensure alignment with brand culture and service standards
  • Develop and implement training schedules in collaboration with department heads
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, licensing, health & safety, and brand policies
  • Assist in setting up administrative systems, SOPs, and internal communication processes
  • Coordinate interdepartmental pre-opening checklists and timelines
  • Support procurement tracking and operational readiness across all functional areas
  • Help establish employee engagement initiatives and workplace culture programs prior to opening

 

Post-Opening Responsibilities – Hotel Manager

  • Internal Guest Service Excellence
    Partner with the General Manager to ensure an exceptional service culture for all internal team members across departments.

 

  • Team Performance & Development
    Monitor and support team member performance through supervision, scheduling, coaching, evaluations, and professional development. Recognize and reward achievements to foster engagement and morale.

 

  • Recruitment & Onboarding
    Lead recruitment and interview processes, including international hiring efforts. Manage onboarding tasks such as credential setup in Kindred’s systems, I-9 verification, training assignments, and RockResort/Kindred Orientation

 

  • Training & Compliance
    Oversee ongoing training initiatives to maintain brand standards and regulatory compliance. Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant work environment throughout all operational areas.

 

  • Employee Engagement & Recognition
    Support all employee recognition programs and actively contribute to a positive workplace culture. Serve as a resource for team members across departments, ensuring timely communication and follow-up.

 

  • Administrative Support & Reporting
    Prepare and generate required operational and HR reports. Provide accurate and timely information to Front Desk, Guest Services, and Accounting teams.

 

  • Guest Experience Leadership
    Serve as a visible and engaged presence on the property, creating a “WOW” experience from first guest contact through their stay. Set the tone for world-class service at every interaction.

 

  • Operational Support & Flexibility
    Support all departments with tactical and administrative needs. Maintain workplace standards and assist with daily hotel operations as needed, including weekends and holidays.

 

  • Communication & Responsiveness
    Respond to internal and external emails and inquiries within 48 hours. Promote a collaborative and service-oriented work environment through clear and consistent communication.

 

  • Other Duties
    Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the smooth and successful operation of the hotel.

The expected pay range is $70,000 - $80,000 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
