Job Summary:
The Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational execution, financial performance, and employee experience of Keystone Hospitality's food and beverage operations. This role leads a diverse portfolio of restaurants, bars, catering, experiential offerings, and supporting hospitality F&B and lodging operations, while partnering closely with resort and enterprise leadership to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
The Director of Food & Beverage is accountable for driving revenue growth, maximizing profitability, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring operational excellence across all outlets. This leader champions Vail Resorts' commitment to safety, inclusion, accountability, and service excellence, while fostering a culture that creates an Experience of a Lifetime for guests and employees.

Job Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for Keystone's food and beverage operations.
- Lead a team of managers and supervisors across multiple outlets and operational disciplines.
- Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Establish operational priorities aligned with resort and enterprise objectives.
- Partner with resort leadership to support overall guest satisfaction and business performance.
Financial Management
- Maintain full accountability for food and beverage revenue, expenses, labor, and profitability.
- Develop annual operating and capital budgets and manage business performance against established targets.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, optimize labor utilization, and enhance financial results.
- Analyze business trends and performance metrics to drive decision-making and operational improvements.
- Support long-range planning and capital investment initiatives.
Operations & Guest Experience
- Drive service excellence and guest satisfaction through effective operational leadership.
- Establish and ensure consistent execution of Vail Resorts food and beverage standards across all operations.
- Oversee outlet operations, catering services, special events, and seasonal programming.
- Monitor quality, food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Collaborate with Recreation, Mountain Operations, Lodging, and other resort partners to deliver a seamless guest experience.
Talent Development
- Recruit, develop, engage, and retain top talent across the food and beverage organization.
- Create a culture of coaching, feedback, and professional development.
- Lead succession planning efforts and build leadership capabilities within the organization.
- Promote a positive employee experience through engagement, recognition, and accountability.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Sales, and Procurement teams to achieve business objectives.
- Support group business, resort events, community partnerships, and destination programming.
- Collaborate with Recreation leadership to enhance overall hospitality offerings and guest experiences throughout the resort
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health regulations, licensing requirements, and safety standards.
- Promote a culture of safety and risk awareness across all operations.
- Maintain readiness for incident response and operational continuity planning.
Organizational Scope
Active member of Hospitality Senior Leadership Team driving direction and performance of overall hospitality operations as well as leader of multiple operational managers across year-round and seasonal locations while managing significant operating and capital budgets.

Job Requirements:
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Culinary Management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of progressive food and beverage leadership experience.
- Multi-unit restaurant or resort food and beverage management experience.
- Demonstrated financial management and budget accountability experience.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and deliver operational results.
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and leadership capability.
Preferred
- Resort hospitality experience.
- Experience leading destination food and beverage operations.
- Catering, events, and conference services experience.
- Experience managing both year-round and seasonal business models.

The expected pay range is $90,000 - $125,000 + annual bonus + equity. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
