Summit House in the Summer

Above all else, the Summit House offers the highest dining in Keystone at 11,640’. The Summit House’s central location on top of Dercum Mountain makes it a great place to meet up with friends and family, catch a bite to eat, enjoy a live band on Friday nights, play family yard games, grab a quick drink or just to check out one of the best views in Summit County. Open during the summer, food is served outside at our made to order grill with indoor and outdoor seating.  Employee’s working here will need to be able to ride the River Run Gondola to work each day, so plan accordingly.

 

The Cashier will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service to the summer dining guests.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering exceptional  service to our guests from the beginning of the service day until the end.
  • Must be able to assist all guests in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining a high level of flow through check-out lines.
  • Directly responsible for the stocking, organization and cleanliness of their assigned station, deck areas and the surrounding areas. Brewing coffee for guest purchase, stocking fountain soda machine with ice, stocking the cocoa machine, etc.
  • Able to service alcohol, create cocktails and multitask while communicating with guests.
  • Responsible for accuracy of cash drawer. Also responsible for completing cash check-out and turn-in procedures and paperwork.
  • Responsible for set-up, operation and tear-down of outdoor concession stand and other mobile food operations.
  • Must be a team player and have an eye for details.
  • May rotate shifts in all service areas of the summit house including the kids station, FAC bar and mobile operations. 
  • Maintain safe, clean and organized work areas, follow sanitation standards and applicable liquor laws.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Must possess excellent communication skills, be able to function effectively as part of a team, and take direction from supervisors and co-workers.
  • Expected to have full knowledge of the menu and all beverage offerings within 14 days of hire.
  • Certified Slip Resistant shoes are required prior to starting work. Shoes must be provided by the employee.
  • Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods of time. Proper attire must be provided by employee.
  • Expected to set up, break down, and clean the satellite bar.
  • TIPS certification will be required within 30 days of hire, classes are provided.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Able to communicate English
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Previous restaurant or customer service experience - Preferred
  • Must be able to count U.S. currency
  • TIPS - training provided if needed
