Job Summary:
The Seasonal Assistant Manager for Keystone Public Safety supports winter operational needs by providing field leadership, incident response, and team oversight during the resort’s peak season. This salaried role includes seven-day on-call availability to ensure continuity of operations. The Assistant Manager responds directly to calls with the team, oversees performance during the season, and supports training, development, and compliance. The role requires sound judgment, calm decision-making, and effective coordination with internal and external emergency response partners.

  • Starting Wage: $58,461.98 - $74,389.88

Job Responsibilities:

Field Leadership & Call Response

  • Respond to calls for service alongside subordinates, including disturbances, medical incidents, and safety events.
  • Provide on-scene leadership during crisis situations and multi-agency responses.
  • Serve as the on-call supervisor
  • Conduct field patrols across resort and hospitality areas in high alpine winter conditions.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Conduct performance evaluations for assigned team members
  • Establish goals and development plans for the team.
  • Lead safety-focused culture.
  • Conduct ongoing coaching and training,  including compliance refreshers.
  • Reinforce standards for report quality, professional conduct, and service delivery.

Training & Compliance

  • Oversee training and development for all team members.
  • Ensure compliance with disturbance response standards, emergency procedures, and guest service expectations.
  • Track required certifications and training completion for the team.

Emergency Response & Incident Management

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in disturbance response and de-escalation.
  • Provide direction in crisis situations and coordinate with Fire/EMS/Sheriff, Mental Health Response, Search & Rescue, and other agencies.
  • Manage or support investigations involving motor vehicle accidents, guest injuries, thefts, fraud, suspicious incidents, and safety hazards.
  • Ensure accurate, timely reporting within CAD/RMS platforms.

Operational Oversight

  • Review daily logs, reports, and officer activity for completeness and accuracy.
  • Support staffing oversight, scheduling and ensure shift coverage.
  • Conduct equipment, vehicle, and facility inspections.
  • Assist with traffic and pedestrian control during peak periods.
  • Support event security and broader resort operations as needed.

 

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in security, emergency services, law enforcement, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in disturbance response, de-escalation, and crisis management.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple emergency response agencies.
  • Operational experience with CAD/RMS systems.
  • Skilled in incident investigation and documentation.
  • Knowledge of emergency response, ICS principles, and traffic control operations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead calmly in stressful conditions.
  • Ability to work outdoors in winter conditions and lift 50 lbs.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED required within 30 days; Stop the Bleed and Narcan preferred.• Budget ownership

The expected pay range is $58,461.98 - $74,389.88. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
