Job Summary:

Big Boulder Competition Services Department is seeking a qualified U.S. Ski and Snowboard Timing and Calculations staff member. The competition Service Specialist performs complex/skilled tasks associated with the day to day operations of race venues and events, either front of the house or back of the house. Responsibilities may include advanced course setting for skiing and mountain biking, skilled labor maintenance of race venue, light carpentry, and hill clean up.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $22.00/hr - $28.60/hr
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027  
  • Shift Type: Part Time hours available 
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age  
  • Housing Availability: No

 

Job Responsibility:

  • Event set-up from pre-event planning through event construction and post event tear down
  • Coordination with internal and external contacts
  • Course setting, safety equipment set up, and timing set up
  • Maintenance of race courses-slipping, raking, shoveling, gate and safety equipment repairs
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, often while skiing/snowboarding
  • Shovel snow on a regular basis
  • Provide great customer service to all of our guests
  • Assist with other department activities as requested
  • Maintain and organize on-hill equipment in a professional manner with an emphasis on safety and guest service
  • Assist on EpicMix Race Venue

 

Job Requirements:

  • Flexibility in scheduling
  • Expert skiing/snowboarding experience
  • Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language
  • Some nighttime work and the ability to work safely on and around machinery and scaffolding at all hours
  • Long hours outdoors in the elements in the service of racing and event production
  • Familiarity and experience with all uses of power and hand tools

 

 Preferred Skills:

  • USSA Membership with an Officials certification
  • Experience working with another race department or event production crew
  • Previous experience with race timing equipment
  • Experience in course setting and course security equipment installation
  • In person interview
  • Ability to operate on-snow machinery: Snowmobiles, snow blowers, and perhaps snow cats
  • Previous resort experience
  • Computer knowledge

The expected pay range is $22.00/hr - $28.60/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
