Job Summary:

The Base Experience Manager reports to Director of Base Experience. This position leads the Security and Dispatch Team directly by supporting leadership in these departments. The Base Experience Manager also works with all other Base Experience and Resort teams to provide the best experience for our employees so they can provide a great experience for our guests. This position requires a growth mindset, a dedication to developing talent, excitement for a high-paced, challenging work environment surrounded by great people working towards the same goals.


Job Specifications: 

 

  • Starting Wage: $71,042.40 - $80,680.09 + annual bonus 
  • Employment Type: Year Round

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for the hiring, training, performance management and development of staff while supporting department operations, company policies and procedures.
  • Build and manage the department budgets and forecasts in conjunction with Director, Base Operations Administrative Assistant and Finance.
  • Maintain compliance with all Nevada, California and federal regulations related to Dispatch, Security and Base Experience functions.
  • Develop and manage a world class guest service program that supports and leads all Vail
    Resorts guest service initiatives.
  • Build relationship with the community including and not limed to agency partners (such as EDSO, DCSO STPD, USFS) Heavenly Neighbors, Heavenly Village Stakeholders.
  • Liaise with agencies and HOA’s in the spirit of being a good neighbor.
  • Actively grow and develop department bench strength, through delegating workloads at
    appropriate levels for individual growth, and utilize annual review performance management system to document successes and areas for improvement. .
  • Assist with traffic control and parking enforcement.
  • Assist with policy enforcement at employee housing.
  • Handle internal and external investigations as assigned. Report writing.
  • Ensure daily shift pass down reports are completed and proper follow up with individuals and departments takes place.
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance and meet the Heavenly appearance and uniform policy.
  • Snow Removal as needed
  • Oversees company lost and found.
  • Be an active participant in Heavenly and Vail initiatives and functions
  • Oversee the completion of department accident and incident reporting, investigation, and related performance improvement planning.
  • Lead gains to be made on Vail Resorts Commitment to Zero 2030.
  • Oversee the maintenance of facility and equipment to ensure safe and efficient work
    environment.
  • Coordinate receiving operations. Work with Dispatch/Security and all mountain departments to
    receive supply orders
  • Oversees all time and labor entries and approval of department payroll.
  • Resolve all guest related issues that may arise with the highest regard to guest service.
  • With the assistance of the Director and Executive Administrative Assistants, Ensure Compliance to the Vail Contract and purchasing requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

 Required :

  • Previous operations, guest service, and training experience.
  • Driving record that meets minimum safe driver standards.
  • Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, Email and internet proficiency.

 Preferred:

  • Previous T&L management and budgeting experience
  • Previous experience in the Ski Industry
  • 4 year degree, or 4 years of progressive experience in supervising/managing

 

The expected pay range is $71,042.40 - $80,680.09 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
