Job Summary:
Stagecoach and Boulder Lodges are Heavenly's neighborhood mountain lodges, serving a loyal local following while contributing their own unique identities to the overall Heavenly Mountain Dining experience.
As Assistant General Manager, you'll partner with the General Manager to lead the daily operation of both lodges while developing people, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining safe, efficient, and profitable operations. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend your time leading shifts, coaching employees, leading daily operations, and helping identify opportunities to continually improve the business while creating memorable après experiences and executing seasonal programming to introducing new culinary offerings.
This position is ideal for an emerging hospitality leader who enjoys working alongside their team, takes pride in operational excellence, and wants to help create memorable experiences for both guests and employees.

Job Responsibilities:
Guest Experience
- Lead by example on the floor, creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring every guest receives friendly, efficient, and memorable service.
- Support the execution of seasonal events, après experiences, promotions, and guest activations that enhance the Heavenly Mountain Dining experience.
- Respond to guest concerns with professionalism while empowering team members to create positive outcomes and memorable experiences.
- Conduct regular operational walkthroughs to ensure dining rooms, kitchens, bars, and guest areas consistently meet Heavenly's high standards for food quality, cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
Operations & Execution
- Partner with the General Manager to ensure Stagecoach and Boulder Lodges operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
- Lead daily opening, operating, and closing procedures while coordinating staffing, scheduling, shift leadership, inventory, ordering, and operational readiness.
- Ensure kitchens, bars, storage areas, guest spaces, and exterior areas remain clean, organized, well-maintained, and presentation-ready.
- Support new menu offerings, seasonal initiatives, and operational improvements while identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, consistency, and the guest experience.
Financial Performance
- Support labor, food cost, revenue, and profitability goals through thoughtful day-to-day operational leadership.
- Assist with purchasing, receiving, invoice accuracy, inventory controls, and month-end inventory processes.
- Monitor product quality, minimize waste, and promote responsible stewardship of company resources.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline employees through hands-on leadership, regular feedback, and clear accountability.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and seasonal staffing to build engaged, high-performing teams.
- Foster a positive culture built on teamwork, respect, communication, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Lead by example through pre-shift meetings, coaching, recognition, and accountability while modeling the professionalism and guest-first mindset expected throughout Heavenly Mountain Dining.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a culture of safety while ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, OSHA, and company safety standards.
- Conduct regular operational and safety inspections while addressing hazards and maintenance concerns proactively.
- Support accurate completion of operational documentation, inspections, inventories, payroll, and other required administrative responsibilities.
Partnership & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with Mountain Operations, Ski School, Lift Operations, Retail, Facilities, and other resort partners to deliver a seamless guest experience.
- Support mountain-wide initiatives, special events, changing weather conditions, and other departments as business needs require, demonstrating a One Team approach.
- Contribute ideas that strengthen operations, improve guest satisfaction, enhance team engagement, and support the continued evolution of Heavenly Mountain Dining.
- Support additional responsibilities and operational needs as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a One Team mindset.
Job Requirements:
- 2–4 years of progressive leadership experience in food & beverage, hospitality, restaurant, resort, or related operations.
- Demonstrated success leading teams in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, hands-on leadership style.
- Experience with scheduling, inventory management, purchasing, labor management, and basic financial reporting preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Current Food Handler Certification and ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain as required).
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and in a mountain environment during all weather conditions.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for hospitality, people development, and continuous improvement.
The expected pay range is $25.00 - $27.00. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
