Job Summary:

 

The Vail Resorts Finance Team is committed to Building Leaders and Driving Value.  Our Finance team is driven by top-tier talent to support and deliver against the Company’s strategic growth objectives as we continue to scale the business. As a public company with a market capitalization of approximately $8 billion, the team engages closely with the investment community on the underlying business model dynamics and the strategic growth drivers.  In addition, the team has led the acquisition of over 30 resorts in the past 10 years, including Whistler Blackcomb, Park City, Stowe, three resorts in Australia and Andermatt-Sedrun in Switzerland. 

 

The Vice President of Investor Relations and Strategic Development will lead development of external messaging with key stakeholders and be essential to driving value creation by pursuing thoughtful network expansion opportunities. The role is focused on business strategy and strategic positioning of the company to deliver on the Company’s growth objectives. The role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and play a key leadership role with the Finance Senior Leadership Team and the Executive Team.  This role will serve as trusted advisor to the CFO and be responsible for developing the Company's IR and Strategic Development priorities to shape, drive, and communicate our vision and strategy for creating shareholder value.

  • The expected range is $250,000 - $290,000 + annual bonus + equity 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the investor relations engagement strategy to build relationships, engage new prospective investors and ensure the Company strategy and financial position is well understood with the investment community   

  •  Lead development of global IR strategy for communicating the Company business model and growth strategies, including proactive outreach and formal investor events (eg Annual Investor Meeting)

  • Oversee acquisition efforts globally, including M&A strategy and sourcing, due diligence and deal execution, and post-acquisition transition and integration efforts to drive strategic M&A activities, particularly across North America, Europe and Asia, to meet enterprise growth objectives. 

  • Actively develop the acquisition pipeline and maintain key relationships with prospective targets

  • Evaluate valuation and strategic benefits from network expansion strategy

  • Oversee the quarterly earnings process, creating communication materials, drafting earnings releases, call scripts, accompanying presentations, as well as preparing talking points and relevant Q&A for CFO and CEO 

  • Rigorously and consistently assess the relative positioning of the Company in the marketplace and track global market, industry and comparable company trends.  Provide strategic insights and market intelligence gathered to assist senior leadership in understanding relative performance and positioning

  • Assess capital needs and manage execution of capital raising initiatives (equity and debt offerings, lending facilities, etc)

  • Play a key role in corporate strategy initiatives, evaluating opportunities and risks of prospective organic and inorganic investment alternatives

Job Requirements:

 

  • 15+ years of experience in senior finance leadership roles  

  • 10+ years in strategic or corporate development roles leading M&A strategy and execution 

  • 10+ years experience in people management and professional development, demonstrated ability to build, manage, develop and motivate a team   

  • Extensive knowledge of public market investing ecosystem   

  • Experience leading execution of corporate transactions, M&A, and IR core deliverables, etc

 

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $250,000 - $290,000 + annual bonus + equity.  Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
