Job Summary:

The Health & Safety Sr. Manager Hospitality and Vail Resorts Retail (VRR) will set the strategy, lead and manage all aspects of Health & Safety across Hospitality and VRR for the Rocky Mountain Region. This position will provide oversight and support to the Health & Safety/Security Manager at Grand Teton Lodge Company on all aspects of their Health & Safety Program for employees and guest risk management. This position will work closely with Health & Safety leadership, Resort Health & Safety, Corporate and Field Operations for Hospitality, Retail & Rental, Distribution Centers and corporate leadership to create, build, implement and sustain a Health & Safety culture that achieves world-class safety performance. This position will collaborate cross functionally to ensure safety programs are properly vetted, dynamic, on-schedule and within budget. This position supports compliance with federal, state and local safety and health regulations in all aspects of Hospitality and Retail/Rental operations. This position will work and collaborate with external partners in supporting our Company’s core value of Be Safe

  • Expected Pay Range: $74,100 - $96,000 + annual bonus
  • Other Specifics: Hybrid, must be based in a state within the Rocky Mountain Region operations for Hospitality and VRR

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive, influence and support the Company’s Health & Safety strategy to achieve world class Health & Safety performance across Hospitality, Retail/Rental and Travel & Leisure industries.
  • Support the H&S Director in developing, implementing, measuring and sustaining Health & Safety programs, processes and initiatives.
  • Lead Regional H&S counterparts to ensure consistent application of strategies and initiatives across Hospitality and VRR.
  • Be an unbiased leader and voice for Hospitality and VRR operations teams so they understand the risks and opportunities to drive, improve, and maintain safety performance.
  • Advise and support Rocky Mountain Region leadership and operations teams on Health & Safety priorities for Hospitality and VRR.
  • Have a deep understanding of the core business needs, and adjust strategy to the business.
    • Use historic, current and predictive metrics to inform adjustments/decisions.
  • Lead and drive operational ownership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive incident prevention strategy and tactics to reduce employee and guest exposures.
  • Prepare management summary reports of safety performance across the West Region for Hospitality and VRR.
  • Proactively address compliance and regulatory safety as well as risk management trends and regulatory focus areas. 
  • Operate and influence a variety of stakeholders in a matrix environment.
  • Oversee and support the Health & Safety Manager at GTLC in the following areas:
    • Ensure Health & Safety strategies are implemented to drive operational goals to achieve world-class performance at GTLC.
    • Implement and sustain risk reduction plans for employees and guest facing safety initiatives across all properties.
    • Post-accident investigations to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
    • Assist with worker’s compensation, OSHA or other inquiry or NOV.
  • Support International Standards Organization (ISO) and National Park Service (NPS) Audits.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years’ experience working in Health and Safety
  • 1 - 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including project management software, Visio
  • Proven experience leading a team to achieve objectives and results in a matrixed environment
  • Experience analyzing, and advising on safety data analytics
  • Experience leading and implementing change
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $74,100 - $96,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
