Job Summary:
We are recruiting for a leader of our Strategic Development team to drive our acquisition efforts. In the past nine years, this team has led the acquisition of 32 ski resorts through transactions totaling over $2 billion, including Whistler Blackcomb, Park City, Andermatt, Stowe and three of the largest resorts in Australia, supporting a growing company of 41 resorts across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia, 40,000+ employees, and a market capitalization of over $9 billion.
The Senior Director of Strategic Development will lead our acquisition efforts globally, including M&A strategy and sourcing, due diligence and deal execution, and post-acquisition transition and integration efforts. In addition, the Senior Director will have opportunities to lead enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and special projects. The Senior Director will work in close coordination with the CEO, General Counsel, CFO and other Executive Committee leaders to drive strategic M&A activities to meet enterprise growth objectives.
This leader will report directly to the Vice President of Corporate FP&A, Strategic Development and Investor Relations and lead a Senior Manager of Strategic Development. The role will also be responsible for leading cross-functional transactional and integration teams composed of senior leaders across the organization. The Senior Director will use financial acumen, strategic planning, strong relationship management and influence and rigorous analytics to source, evaluate and execute transactions, build strong relationships and advise senior executives and the Board of Directors on critical enterprise acquisition opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:
- Shape and manage global M&A strategy, actively developing and managing acquisition pipeline and sourcing efforts, particularly across North America, Europe and Asia
- Lead end-to-end acquisition processes including due diligence efforts, detailed valuation and business model development, and transaction documentation and negotiation strategy
- Manage global market and industry research efforts, while also playing an active role in developing relationships within the industry
- Actively support post-acquisition transition and integration efforts as key finance leader
- Support Vice President of Corporate FP&A, Strategic Development and Investor Relations in special projects across the organization, including leading projects associated with long-term planning and strategic initiatives, analysis and presentations for the Executive Committee and Board of Directors
- Build relationships and influence across all levels of the organization and maintain high level of confidentiality within the organization as well as with external contacts
- Create a high performing team and culture focused on value creation, delivering results, stakeholder influence, and leadership development for career progression

Job Qualifications:
- Outstanding academic credentials; Bachelor’s degree required (finance or accounting degree preferred); MBA, graduate finance degree and/or CFA preferred.
- 10+ years related work experience including business strategy and M&A transaction execution
- Private equity, corporate development, and/or investment banking experience.
- Outstanding analytical skills with ability to synthesize information, develop insights and communicate effectively in presentations and in-person meetings.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to develop the “story” and form recommendations.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with strong initiative and ability to multi-task.
