Job Summary:

This role leverages data analysis, investigative techniques, cross-functional collaboration, and proactive reporting to identify and prevent unauthorized teaching activities (Underground Teaching) and related fraud within Ski & Ride School resort operations, while supporting enforcement actions, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include designing reporting systems, conducting investigations, and collaborating with resort Ski and Ride School, security, legal and COE teams to mitigate risk and protect company, employee and guest integrity

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $ 70,944.80 - $ 93,494.73 + annual bonus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain data analytics and reporting systems to detect unauthorized teaching activities
  • Monitor digital channels (e.g., social media, online marketplaces) for underground teaching solicitation
  • Support communication with suspected underground instructors through access control email channels
  • Collaborate with resort leadership, legal, and security teams on enforcement actions (e.g., pass suspensions, No Trespass, cease-and-desist notices)
  • Provide training and awareness programs around Underground Teaching on fraud prevention and business risk
  • Partner with Legal to strengthen Loss Prevention policies and procedures
  • Prepare and distribute scheduled and ad-hoc reports for leadership
  • Act as liaison between field personnel, corporate teams, and legal to support trespass enforcement
  • Support resort teams in training and awareness around underground teaching risks and reporting protocols
  • Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work independently in a flexible remote environment and communicate effectively with internal and external partners

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Criminal Justice, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years in resort operations (Ski and Ride School), loss prevention, investigations, or business analytics
  • Understanding of legal enforcement procedures (e.g., trespass, cease-and-desist)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Tableau
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications (Certified Protection Professional – CPP, Certified Fraud Examiner – CFE, or similar)
  • Experience with fraud detection tools or exception-based reporting systems

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $ 70,944.80 - $ 93,494.73 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.  Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate.
