Job Summary:

The Retail Applications IT Production Management Manager is responsible for leading our Production Support Business Analysts. Our team is responsible for daily support of applications that include, but are not limited to: Aptos POS (including Sales Audit, CRM, Loss Prevention), MMS, and Silvon. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of analysts instrumental in delivering high-quality support within Vail Resorts Retail.  

 

This manager is an energetic collaborator who is excited by new challenges in a quick-paced environment, accustomed to prioritizing work across multiple lines of business, and organized with a curious mindset.   Superior leadership qualities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and aptitude for SDLC standards and ITIL support methodology are requirements for this production technology leadership role. 

 

This individual develops strong collaborative relationships with third-party vendors, IT partners, and business stakeholders to manage ongoing support and maintenance issues, as well as system enhancements. Other duties include managing quality assurance responsibilities such as test script development and execution, reviewing and approving production support processes and training documentation, in addition to providing guidance and coordination for access security and compliance responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction and mentoring to the Retail Applications IT Production Management Support Analysts; Empower the team to drive the day-to-day support, compliance, and QA responsibilities effectively prioritizing incoming items.
  • Identify professional development opportunities for all direct reports. Create goals, deliver performance reviews, hold regular 1:1 sessions with direct reports, and provide candid feedback as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing, curiously motivated, and engaged team.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide data to the user community as requested.
  • Manage internal and vendor ticket queues and prioritization of items with teams.
  • Provide operational support management for retail applications (Aptos POS, Sales Audit, CRM, Loss Prevention, MMS and Silvon) using IT Connect and Jira systems.
  • Provide oversight for the execution of all compliance requirements (SOX/PCI/DSR), ensuring all are adhered to and met. Seek opportunities for improved processes in terms of efficiency, accuracy, and reduced risk.
  • Build strong relationships with third-party vendors, IT partners, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and proper prioritization.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Strong leadership background to effectively manage, mentor, and grow direct reports with a history of increasing responsibility and career growth.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills maintaining team tasks and accountability.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels (including Director and VP) within IT and the Business.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a demonstrated customer-focused, service-first attitude.
  • Ability to manage/oversee internal and contract resources.
  • Prior technical application ownership experience of PROD and enhancement support

 

Preferred Skills:

  • IT schooling or equivalent job-related experience
  • Experience in a ski resort or retail  field
  • Experience working knowledge of Vail Resorts organization and processes
  • Prior experience with Aptos, MMS or similar retail software application experience
  • Experience with production management processes
  • Work order system experience, such as IT Connect, Jira, etc.

 

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $106,000 - $116,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
