Job Summary:

The Remote General Ledger Specialist will be an integral part of the month end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes within the General Ledger team.  Responsibilities include journal entry preparation, balance sheet account reconciliation, and daily support of treasury functions. The General Ledger team ensures compliance to SOX requirements in oversight of key controls for journal entries and reconciliations. The General Ledger team interfaces with various departments, including IT, Payroll, Finance, Treasury, Procurement, and other departments within accounting and Shared Services.

  • Expected Pay Range: /$22.00 - $27.00  hour

Job Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycle
  • Journal entry preparation
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis of monthly fluctuations
  • Support software testing and training, as needed, for PeopleSoft financial system, OnBase record retention software, and Blackline reconciliation system
  • Focus on ongoing process improvement, supporting initiatives to improve efficiency
  • Active participation in General Ledger team goals
  • Ad hoc project support, as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

  • Must live within 3 hours driving distance from one of Vail Resort’s U.S. resorts & within a state Vail Resorts’ operates.
    • CA, CO, IN, MI, MN, MO, NV, NH, NY, OH, PA, UT, VT, WA, WI
  • Bachelor Degree in business, accounting or related discipline - preferred
  • 1-2 years accounting experience - preferred
  • Strong attention to detail; highly organized
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Self-starter with a drive for excellence, ability to build strong working relationships, and desire to work in a dynamic and changing environment 

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $22.00 - $27.00. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
