Job Summary:

The Contracts Analyst works as a key member of a dedicated contracts team with responsibility for drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts related to the operations of the Company’s corporate, mountain and hospitality divisions.  This will include contracts for construction, purchases of goods, services and equipment, special events, software licensing, marketing, consulting arrangements, and hospitality bookings. The Contracts Analyst also leads or assists in the development of standard contract forms, manages configuration and use of the Company’s contracts management system, trains employees on contracting issues and procedures, and leads other special projects as needed.

  • The budgeted range starts at $52,800 - $73,830.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, negotiate and analyze a wide variety of commercial agreements
  • Interpret and explain contractual terms, conditions, rights and obligations to business staff and convey Legal Department recommendations with respect to contractual provisions
  • Manage the configuration and use of the Company’s contract management system
  • Identify areas for process improvement and assist in developing best practices for contracting across the Company, including drafting and updating form agreements and contracting provisions
  • Lead projects related to implementation and use of technology to facilitate efficient development of contracts for internal clients
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with all members of the Legal Department, business unit staff, and outside third parties
  • Execute on direction set by in-house attorneys and Legal Department leadership
  • Adhere to and support standards and goals of Vail Resorts and the Legal Department
  • Other duties as assigned, including management of special projects

 

Job Requirements:

Required:

  • BS/BA from accredited college or university with a degree in business management, paralegal studies or a related field, or equivalent work experience 
  • 3+ years experience in a corporate or law firm setting working on contracts or transactions
  • Experience with contracts management software 
  • Clear and concise oral and written English language communication skills 

Preferred:

  • Paralegal certificate, Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) certification or equivalent experience 
  • Project management experience in the contracts department of a corporate legal department or experience implementing contract or document management systems
  • High level of proficiency with MS Word, including redlining features; Excel and Power Point proficiency 
  • Strong critical thinking and issue spotting skills
  • Ability to work under high pressure conditions and prioritize multiple assignments efficiently, effectively and professionally
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational and time management skills, with a high degree of follow-through

 

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $52,800 - $73,830.  Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
