Job Summary:
The Community Relations (CR) Analyst will report to the Director of Community Relations and support the Senior Director of Community Relations and the Community Relations team. The CR Analyst will provide research support and data analysis, track developments in our communities, write briefing and background memos and help ensure effective communication and outreach strategy for Company leaders engaging with key stakeholders in the communities in which we operate. The CR Analyst will assist in developing tools, processes, and systems to support Company leaders in their community relations work.
NOTE: The successful candidate will work a non-traditional work schedule, including early morning and evening hours to accommodate media and local government meeting monitoring responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:
- Tracking local government meetings, actions and public statements across 40+ North American communities, to report out and identify emerging issues from county commissions, town councils, planning and environmental boards and commissions and other community groups.
- Monitoring traditional and social media news reports related to Vail Resorts and individual resort communities to identify and share emerging/relevant issues and prepare and distribute the daily, morning compilation of media clips
- Design and manage a data-driven system to monitor community issues and engagement efforts and report and track key outcomes, new developments and action items
- Compile and maintain a database of key internal and external contacts to support rapid issues response and outreach strategy
- Analyze policy proposals, research studies, and other relevant materials to identify emerging issues and draft issue/briefing memos to summarize current/emerging issues and recommend engagement and outreach strategies to the Community Relations team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience in community or government relations
- Strategic and entrepreneurial professional with 3-5 years of relevant policy experience;
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and other project management tools
- Experience conducting research, analysis and otherwise contributing to and tracking complex projects and supporting successful program outcomes, development, and expansion;
- Creative, high-energy, and positive team player who seizes new opportunities;
- An agile and flexible thinker, with the ability to quickly learn new areas of the business;
- An adept written and verbal communicator, capable of distilling complex information into concise summaries supporting thoughtful, well-reasoned recommendations;
- Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional service to team members and other Company stakeholders;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work under high pressure conditions and to successfully handle urgent situations with patience and diplomacy;
- A resourceful self-starter, results and success-oriented, with the ability to ensure timely follow through by company employees;
- Willingness to travel to the company’s various resorts, including some overnight travel;
- Must have a passion for the resort communities in which we operate and the company mission of providing the "experience of a lifetime"
Preferred:
- Understanding of the unique issues facing rural and mountain communities, including workforce and economic development, affordable housing, transit, seasonal economies, and other long-range community planning issues
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and Smartsheet
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $59,100 - $70,000. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
