Job Summary:

As a DevOps Sr. Engineer at Vail Resorts, you will play a critical role in automating and streamlining our data pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable data processing. Your expertise will be instrumental in implementation and optimization of our CI/CD processes for data infrastructure and application pipelines, automated QA framework, resulting in accelerated time-to-value.

  • The budgeted range starts at $99,900 - $140,000 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use configuration management tools to automate, provision, configure, and manage infrastructure 
  • Design, implement, and maintain code pipelines for platform infrastructure and application ex:  data ingestion, transformation, and delivery
  • Collaborate with data engineers to understand requirements and translate them into effective CI/CD solutions
  • Automate and orchestrate data pipeline workflows, including ETL/ELT processes, data validation, and testing
  • Enable versioning, logging and monitoring for platform and application observability
  • Manage and optimize CI/CD processes for data engineering tasks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines and Azure DevOps integrations
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest features and best practices for data engineering
  • Mentor and guide junior team members DevOps and CI/CD practices

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience working with Git or similar CI/CD tools
  • Strong proficiency in configuration languages (Terraform, YAML)
  • Experience with data engineering tools and frameworks (Delta Lake, DataBricks, SQL)
  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data lake concepts
  • Familiarity with data quality and validation tools
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts and Azure services
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure Data Factory
  • Azure DevOps Engineer Certification
  • HashiCorp certified Terraform Associate

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $99,900 - $140,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.  Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate. This includes: California, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont, Washington State, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
