Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the Hospitality IT Delivery team at Vail Resorts, where you will play a central role in driving transformational technology initiatives across our portfolio.

 

This role supports multiple lines of business, including Lodging, Transportation, Golf, Spas, and Vail Signature Clubs, working with vendor-supported applications that are critical to both guest experience and operational excellence.

 

You will partner closely with Lodging Operations, Reservations, Accounting, Revenue Optimization, and IT to deliver application upgrades, new functionality, and system enhancements that create measurable business value.

 

The ideal candidate brings balanced strength across business analysis, technical analysis, and quality assurance, and can move seamlessly between facilitating executive-level requirements discussions and troubleshooting live operational issues. You provide thought leadership, not just delivery support, by challenging assumptions, guiding solution design, and holding vendor partners accountable for outcomes.

  • Starting Wage: $95,630.58 - $130,196.05 + annual bonus

Job Responsibilities:

Ownership & Delivery

  • Take full end-to-end ownership of BA workstreams across enterprise transformation initiatives, from discovery through to implementation
  • Proactively identify gaps, risks and dependencies
  • Operate effectively in ambiguous environments while managing competing priorities across multiple concurrent projects
  • Produce high-quality artifacts including BRDs, process maps, data flow diagrams, gap analysis, user stories, test scenarios, and traceability matrices
  • Contribute to team standards, documentation practices and continuous improvement of delivery processes

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build relationships with business stakeholders and operational teams across the organization
  • Bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating clearly in both directions
  • Facilitate workshops, requirements sessions, solutioning discussions, ensuring outcomes align with enterprise strategy
  • Advocate for inclusive design, ensuring solutions consider a broad range of users and operational contexts

Vendor Management:

  • Review vendor documentation, solution designs, and delivery plans with a critical lens
  • Maintain working knowledge of vendor product roadmaps and proactively surface implications for the organization.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors

Technical Expertise:

  • Understand data flows, system dependencies and integrations across the enterprise
  • Develop and maintain working expertise across the hospitality technology stack; lead technical conversations, access feasibility, and identify architectural and integration risk
  • Ensure solutions meet all applicable compliance requirements, including SOX and PCI
  • Lead and support QA activities, including test design, execution, and UAT coordination
  • Identify technical debt, architectural risks and scope creep early

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of business analysis experience in enterprise IT environments
  • Demonstrated experience across the full BA lifecycle, requirements elicitation, process design, solution validation, and UAT
  • Experience working with vendor-managed solutions, including holding vendors accountable to delivery commitments
  • Proven ability to work across multiple business domains or lines of business simultaneously
  • Strong technical acumen, able to read data flows, understand system integrations, and contribute meaningfully to technical design discussions
  • Experience writing and reviewing technical documentation such as BRDs, user stories, process maps, gap analyses, data flow diagrams, and test scenario.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive work forward
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, including leading workshops and translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience supporting QA and testing activities, including writing and executing test cases

Preferred:

  • Experience in hospitality, resort operations, or travel and leisure technology
  • Familiarity with hospitality platforms such as Oracle, Opera PMS, reservation systems, point-of-sale, or spa/activity management systems
  • Experience across multiple hospitality lines of business, lodging, transportation, golf, food & beverage, or membership programs
  • Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments
  • Familiarity with integration patterns, APIs, and middleware in enterprise application environments
  • CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent business analysis certification
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $95,630.58 - $130,196.05 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.  Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate.
