Job Summary:

The Hospitality IT team at Vail Resorts is seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to support technology-driven initiatives across lodging, transportation, golf, spas, and Signature Clubs. This role focuses on coordinating project activities, gathering requirements, and ensuring timely delivery of solutions that enhance guest and operational experiences.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $70,944.80 - $93,494.73
  • Employment Type: Year Round

Job Responsibilities: 

Project Delivery & Technical Support

  • Lead end-to-end business analysis for projects, including gathering requirements and documentation of functional specifications.
  • Translate business needs into detailed user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria aligned with project goals.
  • Design and execute test plans and scripts to validate solutions; manage defect tracking and resolution.
  • Create system diagrams and process flows to support solution design and stakeholder understanding.
  • Ensure all project work adheres to SOX and PCI compliance standards.
  • Coordinate with development teams and vendors to deliver application upgrades and new functionality.

 

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, planning sessions, and design reviews to align project scope and outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity and transparency.
  • Build strong relationships with business units, IT teams, and third-party vendors to support project delivery.
  • Demonstrate adaptability in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and evolving requirements.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and commitment to quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead with initiative and thoughtfulness, contributing to process improvement and team development.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of IT Business Analysis experience, preferably within ITIL frameworks.
  • Proven experience delivering enhancements via SDLC methodologies.
  • Prior ownership of hospitality applications (e.g., IQware POS, Inntopia, Agilysys, Springer Miller).
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, IT Connect.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred

  • Hospitality industry experience (lodging, transportation, golf, spas).
  • Experience with PMS or CRS systems (e.g., Oracle, SynXis, Springer Miller).
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and advanced Excel (Macros, VBA).
  • Exposure to work order systems (Ivanti, Jira).
  • Certifications such as PMI-BA, PMI-ACP, IIBA, PSPO, POPM.

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $70,944.80 - $93,494.73. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.  Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate.
