Job Summary:  

The Director of Hospitality Applications is responsible for the strategy, delivery, support, and transformation of technology solutions supporting Vail Resorts' Hospitality businesses, including lodging operations, property management, reservations, spa, guest communications, and related technologies.

 

This leader serves as the primary technology partner to Hospitality leadership and is accountable for defining and executing the Hospitality technology roadmap, including Oracle Hospitality modernization and future guest experience initiatives. The role oversees a team of application professionals and external partners while ensuring technology investments deliver measurable business value, operational improvements, and exceptional guest and employee experiences.This position reports to the Vice President, Applications.

 

Job Specifications: 

  • Starting Wage: $140,000 - $165,000 + Annual Bonus + Equity 

  • Employment Type: Year Round

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Define and execute the Hospitality technology strategy and multi-year roadmap.
  • Lead the Hospitality application portfolio, including Oracle Hospitality and related platforms.
  • Oversee production support, security, performance, and continuous improvement of Hospitality technologies.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities to improve guest experience, operational efficiency, and business results.
  • Lead application managers, analysts, and external partners supporting Hospitality solutions.
  • Deliver strategic technology initiatives and transformation programs across Hospitality operations.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, service delivery, and value realization.
  • Oversee capital and operating budgets and technology investment planning.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, privacy, SOX, PCI, and company policies.
  • Support enterprise technology strategy and cross-functional transformation initiatives.

  

Job Requirements: 

  • 8+ years leading enterprise applications and technology delivery in complex organizations.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience with a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Experience supporting Hospitality, Property Management, Reservations, Guest Experience,  Commerce, POS, or similar business functions.
  • Demonstrated success developing technology strategies and delivering transformational business outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Experience managing vendors, contracts, and strategic technology partnerships.
  • Ability to balance operational excellence with strategic execution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle Hospitality, OPERA Cloud, or comparable Hospitality platforms.
  • Experience leading large-scale technology modernization programs.
  • Knowledge of SOX, PCI, cybersecurity, and privacy requirements.
  • Experience in hospitality, travel, tourism, or multi-location operating environments.

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $140,000 - $165,000 + Annual Bonus + Equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.  Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate.
