Job Summary:

The Assistant Buyer – Rental serves as both a support and developmental position within the rental product team and the greater VRR merchant team. The position is specifically responsible for supporting the rental buying team and partnering with cross functional teams to execute the merchandising strategy that meets or exceeds financial goals for their respective departments. In addition, this position provides the training and education to develop their career in merchandising & inventory management.

  • Starting Wage: $28.00/hr - $36.00/hr

Job Qualifications:

  • Assist rental product team with the implementation of category/company initiatives across all rental business lines – traditional rental, my epic gear membership program, & summer bike rental.
  • Assist in the life cycle management of product categories (purchasing, replacement, retirement, exit strategies).
  • Assist in assortment planning, PO execution, and vendor communication.
  • Order management via Coupa procurement platform (order imports, revisions, receiving, & invoice resolution).
  • Coordinate with distribution centers and regional operations team on the receiving and processing of inbound purchased gear.
  • Analytical Reporting- Provide routine reporting on rental inventory, contract usage, equipment aging, revenue, etc.
  • Opportunity to attend local trade shows and vendor line reviews as approved by manager.
  • Develop individual Leadership through Vail Resorts sponsored internal training/leadership development programs.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant Retail/Rental experience with: inventory management, Store sales and operations, etc.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Communicate fluently with co-workers and guests in accurate spoken and written English
  • Attention to detail with sound analytical skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work load and timeline management

 

Preferred:

  • Excel including pivot tables, advanced formulas and data manipulation.
  • SQL experience
  • Coupa experience
  • Clear understanding of basic financial measures 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $28.00/hr - $36.00/hr. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
