Job Summary:

 

The Vice President of Digital Experience is responsible for driving a clear and innovative Digital Experience Vision, Strategy, and Roadmap to infuse digital at the center of the guest experinece.  In addition, this leader will drive eCommerce optimization with online and in-app shopping that optimizes sales conversion across a portfolio of websites and products that drive over $1B in revenue annually.  The right leader for this opportnity will understand the guest journey, and engage with other channel leaders and line of business teams to maximize the guest relationship through all phases of the guest lifecycle.

 

Reporting to the Vice President of Omni-Channel Marketing, the ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience and proven track record in driving impactful Digital Experience strategies leveraging their drive, ambition, business acumen, and emotional intelligence.  The Vice President of Digital Experience should have proven expertise in collaborating with business functions, Marketing Technology partners, Analytics teams, content teams, and 3rd party agencies to deliver best-in-class digital innovation that elevates the guest experience and delivers on the company’s revenue goals & growth plans.  This leader will be responsible for leading and orchestrating a large team of digital experts, building team development plans and up-skilling in key areas.

 

 

This role will own the Digital strategy, execution, and performance optimization for all Vail Resorts websites, and setting a strategic vision and roadmap to make the My Epic App the one-stop hub for all facets of the guest journey. 

 

Specific Areas of Responsibility:

  • Digital Vision, Strategy & Roadmap: Build and oversee a data-driven, long-term digital innovation roadmap that will positively impact the guest experience and the company’s strategic and financial goals. The Digital Platforms include a portfolio of websites and the My Epic App.

  • eCommerce Expertise: Manage the eCommerce platform performance and achieve financial targets. Identify key insights and areas of improvement for buy flow optimization, and identify new opportunities and enhancements to drive engagement, reduce bounce rates, and drive higher conversion

  • Technical Audit and Thought-Leadership: Partner with IT with strong knowledge of platforms and systems to build the vision, roadmaps, capital recommendation, and execution in alignment with IT partners. 

  • Web Content Strategy:  Building the roadmap for tooling, and systems to scale and drive efficiency in content management to connect the full digital guest journey with compelling landing experiences that drive engagement and revenue.

  • SEO Strategy and Performance: Lead a team of SEO experts to drive content and technical back-end improvements that improve natural search ranking and performance.

  • Digital Analytics and Experimentation: Though-leadership and partnership on digital KPIs to drive growth and maximize revenue from each website visit through insights, testing, and a data-driven learning agenda.

  • Team Development: Leadership and team development is a top priority and will require a leader who knows their own leadership strengths and weaknesses deeply, and can lead and mentor the team, including succession planning, individual development plans, and career pathing.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related degree

  • 10+ years experience in E-commerce and Digital Innovation

  • 6+ years  supervisory experience

  • Computer skills: Sitecore, BrightEdge, Adobe Test and Target, Airship, Applied Predictive Technologies (APT), Adobe Analytics, Tableau, Microsoft Excel/Powerpoint, JIRA, Mouseflow, other SEO Tools

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, digital marketing, or strategic brand communication.

  • 10+ years experience in Digital / E-comm with a commercial focus

  • 8+ years experience managing and developing marketing teams T:

    • Experience leading teams successfully through change

    • Proven track record for building high performing digital teams

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $215,519 - $241,983 + annual bonus and equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
