Job Summary:

The Vice President Destination and Resort Marketing is responsible for brand strategy that drives visitation across the resort network, fuels Lift Ticket, Food & Beverage (F&B), and Hospitality revenue and leverages external partnership activations to deliver the guest experience at all Vail Resorts properties. The ideal candidate is currently a VP level with 12+ years of marketing experience in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure industry, as well as expertise in building and supporting revenue generating strategic partnerships that drive visitation. This leader should have a proven track record of leading a large team in a matrixed organization demonstrating drive, ambition, business acumen, and emotional intelligence. 

 

This leader has strong business acumen and a deep understanding of brand positioning and analytics, leveraging insights to shape the brand strategies and tactics to influence guest visitation as well as creating a differentiated experience for guests at our resorts. This leader will create a data-driven approach to destinations and resorts, that creates an emotional connection with guests to drive visitation, long-term loyalty and achieve business results for Vail Resorts.   

 

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), this Vice President role will be responsible for the following:

  • Drive visitation to our resorts
  • Leverage a centralized model to scale resort, F&B and Hospitality marketing, as well as differentiated guest experience at our resorts
  • Leverage analytics to understand the guest behavior drivers and motivators to achieve a material impact on the business
  • Launch go-to-market including segmentation, targeting, personalization, test and learn

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Brand Strategy: Develop and execute a data-driven brand strategy for destination and resort that will influence guest behavior before, during and post visit to drive loyalty 
  • Centralized Business Model and Process: Achieve growth through brand marketing solutions that are scalable across Vail Resorts properties and products.
  • Analytics: Leverage first party data to understand guest behavior, predict guest behavior and influence guest behavior.  
  • Financial Analysis & Business Acumen: Understand the drivers of the business, set budget expectations, forecast, and adjust action plan based on key drivers. Lead capital and expense recommendations to achieve vision.
  • Go To Market: Create guest-centric go-to-market processes, that achieve growth through personalization
  • Test & Learn: Create hypotheses and test plans based on data and insights.
  • Integration: Integrate data and go to market plans including website, guest research, content, CRM, media.
  • Innovation: Develop strategies and innovation plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Partnership: Establish new external Strategic Alliances partnerships that align with our Mission.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Serve as a leader on the CMO’s Leadership Team, working closely with other leaders to achieve priorities for Vail Resorts’ strategic growth priorities through others

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business.  MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years’ experience of proven brand marketing experience with results accountability
  • Consumer Brand Management experience preferred
  • Proven track record as high potential talent demonstrating drive, ambition, business acumen, and emotional intelligence.
  • Proven track record for driving high functioning, quality team outcomes and environment
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization
  • Experience creating a successful strategic vision and plans based on competitive analysis, industry trends, emerging technologies, and company vision
  • Track record of project execution; completing and delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Highly proficient in MS Office applications
  • Oriented to quality and attention to detail.
  • Learns quickly and invests the effort and energy to learn and grow.

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $187,800.70 - $241,983.95 + annual bonus + equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
