Job Specifications:

 

  • Expected Pay Range $21.63 - $32.93
     

This position is responsible for collaborating closely with all members the Tax Department to ensure that the duties are met in a timely and accurate manner.  This position will work as part of a greater team charged with the responsible for all aspects of income tax compliance, accounting, and audits. Most importantly, this position works in tandem with another departments within the company to ensure all duties and responsibilities are met.  

 

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain the tax calendar;
  • Send out and track quarterly/annual information requests necessary for provision and tax return calculations;
  • Work with a team to accurately prepare and timely file the corporate federal and state income tax returns, including less complex book/tax differences and data entry into compliance software;
  • Calculate and remit all state income tax payments, including extensions and estimates;
  • Prepare and track internal account reconciliations, submissions, and approvals;
  • Complete monthly variance analysis;
  • Respond to all state and local tax notices, searching assistance from others within the department;
  • Complete state and local apportionment data;
  • Assist with ASC 740 analysis including provision to return, quarterly and annual calculations, for Vail Resorts and various additional stand-alone provisions;
  • Maintain documentation necessary for all income tax processes and SOX controls.
  • Research and document relevant tax laws regarding positions taken on tax returns,
  • Identify risks, obstacles and issues; recommend solutions and work with management to resolve escalated issues;
  • Identify, develop, and implement, process improvement opportunities;
  • Support internal teams by providing subject matter expertise and informal training to the team;
  • Proactively pursue professional development activities (attending training, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, etc.);
  • Special projects as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience required;
  • Corporate tax or General Accounting experience required;
  • Advanced analytical skills;
  • Detailed oriented;
  • Must be highly motivated and communicate in a highly professional and articulate manner verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to manage multiple complex assignments;
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

 

The budgeted range starts at $21.63 - $32.93.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
