The Strategic Sourcing Manager supervises the Procurement Team by value and leading innovation across varying categories (Goods, Services, & Capital) within the Resort Operations team! This role reports to the Director, Strategic Sourcing & Category Management, and is based in the Company’s Broomfield, Colorado headquarters. This candidate will work closely with business partners to understand their needs, and will lead a lean group of operational and strategic team members through a broad set of sourcing and procurement activities to achieve results. -  Shown experience in leading strategic sourcing projects and multi-year strategies across varying strategies from inception to implementation including planning of strategies, negotiation, and contracting.

-  Experience with managing a team of strategic and operational team members across multiple sub-categories.

-  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive relationships with both internal and external senior partners

-  Strong analytical skills and sophisticated problem solving experience to be able to develop pricing models appropriate for the goods/services being sourced

-  Financially oriented and can tie strategies and initiatives back to value

-  Collaborative teammate

-  High degree of ethics and integrity

-  Excellent communication skills and makes distilled points that are insight driven

-  Strong digital literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook)

-  Develops leadership skills in others by coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing and reinforcing standard methodologies

-  Demonstrate positive and professional demeanor toward staff, co-workers, external and internal customers, and management

-  Lead critical thinking, thought leadership, and supplier management in resort spend areas.

-  Accountable for owning the development and execution of multi-year category strategies, aligning Vail Resorts’ sourcing objectives, and strategies with overall business objectives.

-  Perform spend analysis and develop and execute a sourcing roadmap surrounding EBITDA cost savings, program compliance, supplier management, and process improvement

-  Encourage trust and build strong, positive, productive relationships with key business partners and/or relevant internal teams.

-  Nurture leadership skills and build an environment of continual improvement both in and outside of your team.

-  Develop and support metrics (TCO, Supplier Goals, Program Compliance, Savings Pipeline) to ensure needs of business are met

-  Demonstrate a steadfast passion for the guest experience, culture, mission, and vision.

-  B.S. in Business, Finance, Supply-Chain, or related field

-  5+ years of multifaceted experience in Sourcing & Procurement with responsibilities in categories such as resort spend

-  CPM/CPSM certifications a plus

-  Proven project management experience



The budgeted range starts at $73,000 - $88,950 + annual bonus.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
