SUMMARY OF JOB:  

The Senior Manager of Talent Management will design and deploy talent management programs/strategies. This role is critical in helping develop and deploy our strategic talent and leadership pipeline objectives to ensure Vail Resorts is identifying and growing talent and our leadership pipeline to effectively deliver on our organizational priorities. Working to craft thoughtful and progressive solutions to support our people and programs will drive new behaviors and patterns enterprise-wide which will support us as we continue to grow and scale. This role will develop, coordinate, and execute initiatives aligned with our Talent strategy. This will include involvement in a range of strategic initiatives including talent management processes such as performance management, goal setting, talent pools, succession planning, employee engagement survey and leadership development.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead all efforts related to strategy, design and delivery of talent management programs/processes for the enterprise.
  • Evaluate and support program best practices to ensure there is enterprise-wide adoption, knowledge sharing and consistency.
  • Track program successes through metric driven information and make recommendations for enhancements to programs based on data insights.
  • Leverage HR technology for process, administration/facilitation and communication.
  • Lead, coach and develop a growing team to build a highly efficient and data driven TD team.
  • Support the design and execution of best-in-class Talent & OD strategies and solutions, such as: Organization and Talent Review, Leadership and Employee Development, Performance Management, Assessment and Selection, Talent Analytics, Engagement and Retention, Organization Design, and Change Management.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and Talent Relationship Managers to understand the talent needs across the organization, align on priorities, approaches, processes, and tools.
  • Leads multiple, simultaneous HR, talent and organizational development programs and projects specific to: talent reviews, talent pool management, HiPO program management, key talent mobility and acquisition integration for new entities and employees, and global HR talent system(s) integration to align with our organization and to achieve high impact and high-quality results.
  • Program manage, design and recommend company wide solutions, considering their impact across the entire employee experience.
  • Designs effective and efficient communications to keep all stakeholders connected, informed, and on track with talent program solutions.
  • Lead and manage a Talent Management team to deliver the programs and solutions identified through our Talent strategy.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, OD/Leadership, HR or related field.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years directly related experience, preferably in a medium-large company or consultancy
  • 1+ years managing others
