Summary of Job:


The Sr. Marketing Manager, Hospitality is responsible for developing and implementing the marketing strategy to deliver Room Night Occupancy and Lodging Revenue goals for Vail Resorts’ lodging properties across North America.

This position will create and direct the strategic plan to achieve volume, capture and revenue targets associated with segments of guests to stay in the lodging properties of the Resorts as part of their mountain vacation, across multiple resorts and/or geographies.

The ideal candidates is an analytical marketer with the ability to implement and optimize a segmented, targeted and personalized marketing approach, with experience leveraging test-and-learn capabilities to measure effectiveness in order to drive business results.

This position will lead team members responsible for creating targeted and personalized content to deploy against complex guest segments and contact strategies leveraging marketing automation platforms.

They will actively monitor key performance indicators for the Lodging business, be able to identify key drivers of performance, optimize tactics where needed, and work with various stakeholders to deliver revenue and Room Night goals.

The ideal candidate has experience in Hospitality, Travel or related Product marketing, a strong understanding of the factors that influence the lodging industry, including an understanding of revenue management and pricing strategies as well as destination travel trends.


The ideal candidate must be a great communicator that is able to give and take positive feedback, as well as effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and prioritize workflows. He/she will have will have their hands in many different types of projects and be responsible for delivering results on-time in a very fast-paced environment. Flexibility and a positive attitude are crucial, as well as the ability to delegate and inspire confidence in stakeholders to deliver upon the growth objectives of the business.


Essential Job Responsibilities: 


  • Develop annual strategic growth objectives, key business priorities and initiatives for Hospitality division
  • Leads related integrated marketing efforts across multiple departments to deliver results
  • Leads through influence with numerous stakeholders across functions at the Corporate, Resort and Property level to gain alignment and educates stakeholders via ongoing communications
  • Monitors business performance and adjusts plans to addresses opportunities/needs at the guest and/or business level
  • Oversees multi-location brands, including individual properties, RockResorts, Branded Resort collections, and others
  • Leads cross-functionally with centralized marketing departments (Media, CRM, Analytics, etc.) to plan/execute/optimize marketing plans
  • Develops strategies and oversees teams responsible for execution of enterprise-wide sales, Booking Deadline promotions, as well as ongoing marketing and brand campaigns
  • Leads new property integrations as related to marketing efforts
  • Directs various external agencies/partners to deliver creative and content needs
  • Develops and manages marketing budgets and forecasts
  • Key leader in developing multi-year growth planning efforts for the company’s Lodging division
  • Keeps abreast of news/trends in travel, lodging and marketing to inform future growth strategies


Job Requirements:


  • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 6-8 years marketing experience, preferably in travel or hospitality industries; experience working in a multi-location and/or corporate matrixed environment
  • 3+ years direct supervisory experience

Possesses good judgment, and is conscientious and trustworthy. Some travel required to different resort locations.
