DEPARTMENT PURPOSE – MARKETING ANALYTICS

The Marketing Analytics team leverages Vail Resorts’ proprietary guest data to generate insights that drive value for the business. The team informs data-driven insights and strategic decisions across the enterprise and is a key partner to many Lines of Business (including Season Pass, Paid Lift Tickets, Ski School, and Rentals). 

 

POSITION PURPOSE – SENIOR MANAGER, SEASON PASS ANALYTICS

As the Senior Manager of Season Pass Analytics, you will lead strategic analyses, reporting and insights to support revenue growth strategies, in-season execution and budget planning for the Season Pass business (Epic Pass!). In addition, you will support strategic planning for the Season Pass business. This is a highly visible analytical leadership role and relationship building will be a key component of success. The position requires the ability to analyze data and to provide strategic insights with actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner to executive stakeholders.

 

Job Responsibilites: 

  • [Guest Analytics] Manage all aspects of guest analysis for Season Pass and other guest retention initiatives. Formulate insights based on guest motivators, behavioral drivers, and marketing programs impacting guest decision making.
  • [Performance Analysis and Reporting] Manage the development and distribution of executive-level (C-suite) reporting related to sales performance, with in-depth analysis of key performance drivers.
  • [Presentation] Communicate conclusions, implications, and recommendations of analyses in a clear, concise fashion to executive-level stakeholders to drive more effective marketing decisions.
  • [Leadership] Lead and mentor junior members of the team with a focus on personal and analytical skill development.
  • [Prioritization] Prioritize projects with the marketing team to balance the support of broad initiatives with recurrent reporting and proactive analysis.  Evaluate the potential impact of analysis and effectively manage timelines and expectations.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Very strong quantitative and analytical skills with demonstrated success in analytical or financial roles
  • Minimum 4-6 years previous experience in marketing analytics, consulting, direct marketing, investment banking, financial analysis or other similar field. Preference for experience in a B2C setting
  • Proven experience communicating actionable recommendations and insights based upon data-driven insights to executive-level stakeholders
  • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication, adjusting the message to the audience
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong presentation skills and an aptitude for condensing large amounts of data into a meaningful story
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • Ability own and drive multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate cross-functionally within the organization
  • Demonstrated success working with large data sets; experience with analytic tools/software such as Tableau and similar programs strongly preferred; experience with data processing (SQL) also a plus.

 

The budgeted range starts at $100,000 - $125,450 + annual bonus.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
