The Senior Analyst – FP&A Cost Analytics will use deep analytical capabilities to strategically inform decision making for the cost structure of Vail Resorts as well as in support of specific cost initiatives being undertaken by the business. They will be responsible for performing in-depth analysis including benchmarking and trending to develop business insights, provide business decision support and inform budgeting / forecasting processes.


The analyst will have the opportunity to analyze the key issues arising across various lines of business and have a significant impact on decision making.  They will use financial acumen, strategic synthesis and data-driven insights to advise executives and will gain great perspective on key business drivers, while working on some of our most interesting and challenging business questions.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver data-driven financial analytics through specialization and domain expertise.
  • Combine deep analytical and business knowledge to develop an enterprise-level perspective on business performance and trends.
  • Contribute to a high performing team and culture focused on value creation, rigorous analytics, delivering actionable results, and leadership impact for capability development and career progression.
  • Develop strong working partnerships with FP&A and Operations teams to ensure collaboration for delivering financial insights informed by the best data available across the company.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with success in analytical or financial roles – 4+ years previous experience in analytics, financial analysis, consulting, investment banking or other similar field.
  • Preferred: Masters or MBA in Finance, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics, with a focus on quantitative analysis.
  • Experience communicating meaningful recommendations and insights based upon data-focused insights to business partners.
  • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication, adjusting message to audience. Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills are essential. Ability to own and drive multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate cross-functionally within the organization.
  • Success working with large data sets; experience with analytic tools/software such as Tableau, Alteryx, and similar programs preferred; experience with data processing (SQL) also a plus.
  • Advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) required.

 The budgeted range starts at $73,000 - $88,950 + annual bonus.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
