Job Summary:

As the Senior Director of Pricing and Business Development for the Rental division, you are the catalyst in creating and leading pricing strategies designed to develop and implement rental growth opportunities. As a key member of the Operations Senior Team, you are a big thinker who can leverage data to capitalize on business trends and opportunities.  Through leading a diverse team of Pricing, Data Analytics, and internal Sales teams, you embrace change and seek out opportunities to grow the business, evolve the organization and develop your team. This is a highly influential role creating action-oriented pricing analytics and metrics to drive strategic decisions across the Rental division.   

 

Responsibilities:

Pricing:

  • Primary lead over the Rental Product and Pricing team including direct oversite of the dynamic pricing engine, pricing strategies, execution and results tracking.  Create seasonal (winter and summer) pricing strategies that are innovative and rely on analytics to forecast trends ultimately driving revenue growth. 
  • Lead the team to the next phase of enhancing the dynamic pricing engine including improved analytics and technology enhancements to continue to stay relevant and at the forefront of the industry. Seek out ways to optimize revenue in partnership with field teams and finance stakeholders.
  • In partnership with Marketing, identify and deliver on creative ways to communicate strategies across the channels where rental products are offered to best align to guest needs.  Support marketing with the development of creative reservation discount and promotion code strategies with a keen eye on impact to overall revenue.
  • Support leadership in financial business review meetings through thoughtful discussion of key impacts to yield and overall business performance indicators.

Data Analytics:

  • Through the objective of organizational advancement and driving the rental experience, lead the data analyst team to provide key insights out of the data warehouses.
  • Support financial modeling and ROIs across VRR in support of overall growth initiatives that evolve the Vail Resorts Rental line of business. Have a financial mindset to support overall rental opportunities.
  • Own all rental specific reporting and dashboards facilitated by the pricing and data team.  In addition to creating and executing reporting standards, provide key insights and recommendations to improve overall rental performance.

 

Sales:

  • Develop and own both the pricing strategies and overall relationship management with internal teams including ski school, group sales, wholesale sales and hospitality.  Identify ways to improve the foundation and new channels/opportunities to increase market share.  Directly accountable for dotted line resources.
  • Lead teams in resort who own local referral opportunities to drive sales in Vail rental shops in resorts.  Drive business growth through strategic planning, partnerships and connections. Develop a robust strategy with opportunities between existing and new markets to drive sales.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in finance, marking and/or sales
  • Analytical background in Accounting, Finance, Revenue Management or Economics highly preferred
  • Experience with Word Suite, advanced Excel skills required
  • Strong communicator that is able to provide and receive feedback
  • Able to work in a fast past environment and prioritize changing objectives
  • Inspirational leader with the ability to form effective internal and external business partnerships that influence the business
  • Ability to think strategically, understand complex business challenges and formulate effective solutions designed to improve results
  • Experience setting a shared vision and direction and building the excitement needed to influence a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to leadership
  • Ability to conduct and analyze research related to consumers, industries, markets and competitors

 The budgeted range starts at $140,400 - $175,500 + annual bonus + equity.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
