Summary of Job:


The Sr. Director of Content Marketing will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing the overall company's content strategy. He/she will direct all Company-wide asset management efforts – including the implementation and integration of a new Digital Asset Manager (DAM) tool, and the establishment of the most-effective processes for content gathering, organization, trafficking, distribution, optimization, automation, quality control, and content analytics for creative assets for our portfolio of resorts – both on Vail Resorts’ platforms and through other distribution channels.

In addition to leading the implementation of the new DAM tool and related technology & processes, the Sr. Director will also have oversight over the company’s full-service Creative Services team, with responsibility for brand building, creation of brand guidelines, content and creative production, and other design projects as part of the company’s in-house creative agency.


He/she will also will be responsible for developing content marketing objectives, strategies, tactics, and KPI’s that align with customer personas, journeys, and business objectives.  

The job will require exceptional leadership skills, agility and a strategic approach to finding solutions that drive the business.

Critical to its success will be someone who can partner with internal stakeholders, external partners and vendors, and a variety of cross-functional teams – including Relationship Marketing, Analytics, IT, Media, Resort Marketing, etc. – to lead the charge in developing ways to maximize scalability, quality control and ROI.

The ideal candidate has implemented and leveraged a Digital Asset Management (DAM) tool, and leading an enterprise through various stages of content marketing maturity. 

In addition, he/she enjoys solving problems and finding process efficiencies in an innovative, creative and dynamic environment. As an agile leader and strong communicator, he/she drives change with enthusiasm, thoughtfulness and a commitment to personal and team development. 


Essential Responsibilities


  • Lead the implementation and integration of a DAM system
  • Lead planning, developing and implementing the overall company's content strategy.
  • Lead the teams responsible for gathering, storing, organizing, sharing and optimizing content across the Company’s many departments, resorts and lines of business
  • Establish and enforce the Company’s policies and procedures for digital asset preservation, taxonomies, filing, usage rights and metadata standards
  • Research and make recommendations on emerging standards and best practices in digital asset management. This includes automation of asset finishing, processes, asset lifecycle, ROI modeling, taxonomy, digital rights management.  
  • Lead the team responsible for creating and producing Content and Creative assets and brand building for the company
  • Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to optimize user experience of DAM tool
  • Develop and manage a new production team, and put in place the people, processes and technology necessary to maximize efficiencies and ROI
  • Develop their team and unlock each person’s full potential


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelors’ degree and 10+ years’ experience in related field (Marketing, Communications) 
  • 10+ years of leadership experience
  • Experience implementing and/or working within a DAM, and leading enterprise through various stages of content marketing maturity.
  • Experience in marketing technology-related implementations
  • Experience with Content Analytics & KPI’s.  (e.g. Content ROI & Engagement metrics)
  • Experience with complex Go To Market processes a plus
  • Experience with Content Automation a plus
  • Have an eye for Brand and Creative Design
  • Experience directing Creative Agencies and teams
  • High level of comfort with content-related software and digital file formats
  • A solid understanding of skills and processes necessary to support multi-platform initiatives
  • Ability to collaborate with IT, RM, Media, Digital teams, and Brand teams to drive marketing effectiveness
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to action on insights and make strategic decisions
