The Vail Resorts Finance Team is committed to Building Leaders and Driving Value.  We recently created a new fully centralized Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in our corporate headquarters to support a growing company of 37 resorts, 55,000+ employees and a market capitalization of over $10 billion. The Senior Director of SG&A Finance will lead a Director and three analysts to support all of Vail’s corporate functions. The team is responsible for providing in-depth financial analysis, strategic planning and strategic decision support for the most senior leaders in our organization including our CFO, CMO, CHRO, CIO and General Counsel. The team also leads key processes such as budgeting, forecasting and supports the financial close. The Senior Director will have the opportunity to analyze key issues arising across our $2.5 billion revenue business and have a significant impact on decision making.  S/he will use financial acumen, strategic synthesis and data-driven insights to advise senior executives and will gain great perspective on key business drivers, while working on some of our most interesting and challenging business questions.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver financial insight and commentary based on comprehensive view of segment financial results.
    • Assess business opportunities and risks with a strong orientation to long-term enterprise value creation.
    • Synthesize and communicate key financial and business insights at an executive-level to drive decision-making with operational executives.
    • Provide thought leadership and guidance to drive strategic business initiatives for divisional leadership teams.
    • Lead the financial planning process that focuses on value creation and aligning resources with strategic priorities.
    • Play a critical role as a leader in the Finance organization, bringing an enterprise-level perspective to support the strategic, talent and process improvement efforts across the Finance organization.
  • Lead the FP&A efforts for the SG&A segment, including long term strategic planning, annual operating and capital budgets, forecasting and insights on actual results, with a focus on:
    • Develop and manage financial communications, including key business presentations to the Executive Team.
    • Actively contribute to capital allocation strategy analysis and decision making.
    • Develop scalable and repeatable processes with focus on continuous improvement.
    • Lead executive level discussions on strategy, initiatives and special projects.

 JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Outstanding academic credentials; Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, graduate finance degree and/or CFA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in financial planning and analysis, with demonstrated success in managing analytical talent, financial modeling, and analysis.
  • Experience leading FP&A teams with experience in supporting executive level leaders.
  • Outstanding analytical skills with ability to synthesize information, develop insights and communicate effectively in presentations and in-person meetings.
  • Deep curiosity and passion for understanding and analyzing financial results in the context of creating shareholder value.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to develop the “story” and form recommendations.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with strong initiative and ability to multi-task.
  • Superb attention to detail balanced by ability to focus on the "big picture."
  • Effectively manage and build capabilities and culture for high performing professional team.

The budgeted range starts at $157,200 - $196,500 + annual bonus + equity.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
