The mission of the Marketing Analytics team is to leverage Vail Resort’s proprietary guest data to generate actionable insights that unlock value for the business. The Marketing Analytics team is responsible for providing analytics to support each marketing line of business, enterprise-wide marketing analytics and reporting (e.g. channel analytics), and data governance. The analytics support for each key marketing line of business includes developing performance reporting and building out value-added analytic uses cases, with a goal to drive business strategy and generate value for the business. Enterprise-wide analytics encompasses the evaluation of behavior by guest segment, measurement of marketing effectiveness, and development of insights and models to help inform marketing decisions across multiple marketing channels.



The primary purpose of the Sr Analyst of Revenue Analytics will be to leverage a data-driven approach to analyze business performance and to understand the fundamental drivers of business outcomes. The Revenue Analytics team is responsible for:

  • Owning the holistic revenue data foundation (working closely with IT)
  • Conducting robust analyses to understand drivers of business outcomes
  • Providing synthesized business storytelling based on driver analyses
  • Owning the process and overall deck preparation for key business presentations

This Senior Analyst role must be a respected strategic partner to key leaders within Finance and the marketing lines of business, demonstrating the ability to help drive the consumption and adoption of insights throughout the enterprise. 



  • [Analytics] Leverage a strong analytic skill set to effectively navigate a large and complex database, use a hypothesis-driven approach to prioritize key analyses, and ultimately uncover impactful insights regarding the drivers of the business
  • [Leadership] Demonstrate strong leadership through the robust development of talent on the analytics team, showing high emotional intelligence and self-awareness of how actions impact the team and stakeholders, showing ambition to overcome obstacles, and the learning agility to tackle and solve new and increasingly complex problems.
  •  [Partnership] Partner with Marketing and Finance leaders to provide analytical input on key drivers of our business performance, while also partnering with the IT organization to ensure the maintenance of an effective data base
  • [Communication] Translate detailed analytic output into clear, concise, and articulate executive summaries for consumption by the CMO, the Executive Committee, and the Board of Directors.
  •  [Guest and Financial Data] Revenue Analytics will be the business owner of the data foundation of revenue data.  This role will need to collaborate with IT to grow and enhance the Vail Resorts guest database.  This includes but is not limited to ongoing evolution of data capture and guest data integration and partnership on data governance needs.
  • [Process management] Demonstrate the ability to build a process for developing key business presentations across a wide range of stakeholders 



  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (Finance, Business, Economics, Marketing, Mathematics, or Engineering) required
  • Work experience
    • ~2 years of management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy experience at top-tier firm; experience working on strategic topics with consumer-facing businesses preferred
    • ~2 years of experience with data visualization.  Experience with visualization tools like Tableau or similar preferred.
    • Very strong quantitative skills with demonstrated success in analytical roles, and a proven ability to manipulate large data sets.
    • Demonstrated success summarizing complex concepts and insights to senior leadership within an organization in a succinct, visual, and compelling fashion.
    • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication, adjusting message to audience.  Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
    • Broad marketing knowledge and demonstrated success using disparate consumer data to improve marketing decision-making on a large scale. 
    • Hospitality or travel industry experience helpful but not required
    • Must have demonstrated success developing relationships across an organization and influencing outside reporting lines
    • Highly collaborative approach and open communication style
