Overview of Position:

 

The primary purpose of this role is to Manage the use and usability of the Vail Resorts EAM system. This role will act as data governor, managing adherence to master data standards and data entry practices. This role will also act as governor for all business EAM business processes, monitoring for and reporting non-compliance. This role will also lead efforts to define, design and develop the key performance indicator reporting system. From a system perspective, this role will work with the IT EAM System architect to ensure seamless functionality with complimentary systems (i.e. Coupa, Peoplesoft, etc.). This role is responsible for the design, development and ongoing management of transactional training for users of the EAM system. With the implementation of this EAM sytem, people in the Mountain Division of Vail Resorts will experience change on a scale previously unseen, and this role will be directly responsible for the success of this change in each of the resorts implemented. Finally, this role will be responsible for continuously monitoring the ‘health’ of our asset management systems and applying thought leadership to their improvement to achieve the goals of Vail Resorts.

 

Responsibilities: 
 

Administration

  • Serves as data administrator for the EAM application within the organization and provides oversight to EAM functional leaders.
  • Serves as functional administrator for the EAM application within the organization and provides oversight to EAM functional leaders.
  • Establishes appropriate access and performance, and ensures menus are in place for all users based on information provided by Data Manager / EAM Business Administrator and IT.
  • Ensures appropriate status authorizations, KPI’s, and reports are accessible to appropriate users.

 

Reporting

  • Works with Regional Leadership to identify Asset Management goals and related objectives for each Resort.
  • Develops KPI reporting functionality and systematically enforces business processes utilizing various business tools (e.g., Flex SQL and Extensibility Framework).
  • Defines reports required by end uses.
  • Develops reports for end users and makes reports available to appropriate users based on knowledge or systems reporting functionality.
  • Monitors Key Performance Indicators and reports as defined so Resort Leaders can take action as necessary.

 

Improvement

  • Coordinates with IT on interfaces with the EAM application and develops the business requirements and technical scope for interface changes or defines new interfaces.
  • Gathers information from end users to improve asset management operations.
  • Gathers information from EAM users to improve application functionality.
  • Defines, designs, develops, deploys and drives EAM application optimization to support business needs for managing assets.
  • Develops plans for system improvements for management approval and implements approved changes.

 

Governance

  • Governs compliance with the business rules that ensure data integrity of new Asset or MRO part data prior to loading.
  • Analyzes data for accuracy and reports to Regional Leadership in order to communicate risks to process effectiveness based on inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Sets up code tables, ensures data integrity.

 

Process:

  • Defines and maintains the business processes supporting best practices in asset management.
  • Researches best practices in maintenance relative to functional use of EAM.


People:

  • Trains and supports end users.
  • Coordinates training for advanced users and new functionality during upgrades.
  • Ensures training documentation is current and maintained to support end users.
  • Ensures end users are trained on the business processes associated with the best practices in asset management.


Job Requirements:
 

  • BS preferred
  • 10+ years of 4 or more of the following:
    • Project management,
    • Change management
    • System analyst
    • Financial systems
    • Fleet operations
    • MRO practices.
    • Maintenance Planning & Scheduling in an enterprise EAM system
    • EAM system administration experience. (Experience working with employees closest to the value stream implementing changes in their business processes HIGHLY preferred.)
  • Ability to influence, set limits, make difficult decisions and work autonomously
  • Highly evolved computer skills
  • Effective communication skills are a must
  • Highly organized essential.
  • Must be highly results driven and possess a strong enterprise mindset

 

Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Database administration preferred
