Job Summary:

We are looking for a junior software developer that is a motivated self-starter who will participate in all stages of the application lifecycle to join the Marketing Technology team at Vail Resorts. Directly supporting our digital products and services across consumer-facing web, mobile, mobile app, eCommerce and the broader marketing technology space; the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This individual will leverage modern coding techniques using Microsoft .NET MVC, C#, RESTful APIs, along with the Sitecore CMS to deliver efficient and scalable functionality to applications supporting our guest-facing digital applications.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and implement new features for our resort ecommerce websites, EpicMix, and EMMA using MVC.Net, C#, RESTful APIs and the Sitecore CMS, integrating with multiple internal systems and third party APIs.
  • Work closely with business partners to deliver application requirements across all functional business units including online marketing, season pass and ticket sales, ski lessons, lodging reservations, account management, and more.
  • Determine the root cause of complex software issues and develop clean and scalable technical solutions.
  • Proactively engage with the team to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues and participate in day-to-day activities via sprints.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code is of high quality following best practices, is performant, and follows OWASP Top 10 secure coding practices.
  • Write and update unit tests to ensure code coverage.
  • Monitor, support and troubleshoot Priority 1 issues with our applications.
  • Maintain and create documentation for application features and processes.
  • Actively participate in scrum activities (daily standups, planning, grooming and retros).




  • Four-year college degree, preferably with a focus in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 2+ Years of experience developing web applications. Solid understanding of the web application lifecycle.
  • Experience coding in C# using Visual Studio, ASP.NET, and MVC.NET.
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented design patterns and implementation.
  • Experience using source control technologies, specifically Git.
  • Experienced with all technologies necessary for Internet applications: HTTP, TCP/IP, SMTP, etc.
  • Good understanding of Web Services protocols such as REST, SOAP and API design for extensibility and portability.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (both verbal and written) with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical curiosity and self-motivated to explore beyond your experience.
  • You understand the software development process and the tools that are typically used, and care not only about the code that is written but also the process by which we get there.


  • Understanding of web frameworks: React, jQuery, Bootstrap.
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools, preferably Bamboo, Docker, Octopus.
  • Experience in delivering solutions for a content management system, preferably Sitecore.
  • Understanding of SQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Entity Framework.
  • Experience writing code for PCI compliance.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo and Bitbucket.


The budgeted range starts at $67,000 - $81,150.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
