The IT Senior Resource Manager is responsible for implementing the IT capacity management process in support of the Company’s strategic initiatives which includes developing a strategy and phased approach to build an IT department Program Management Office (PMO). In addition to building the roadmap to a PMO, this role will build and implement cross-department resource management strategies, closely partner with IT leadership, Finance business partners, and the Global Shared Services management office to collect and deliver capacity estimates and resource needs for IT to deliver against the Company’s long-range plan, and serve as project manager for IT’s role in the Company’s transition to a Global Shared Services model. This role sits within the Office of the Chief Information Office (CIO) and reports directly to the IT Director of Strategic Projects.

 

The IT Senior Resource Manager will have strong learning agility and will be able to quickly understand the Company’s annual planning cycles and IT’s role as a key growth enabler. This person will work closely with the CIO, cross-functional leaders and program owners, and the IT extended leadership team. Therefore, they need to be a highly resourceful individual with the ability to lead through influence, drive for results, and make strong, sound decisions amidst ambiguity.

Job responsibilities:

  • Build, refine and implement a cross-department resource management strategy aligned to the Company’s annual planning cycles, long-range plan, and IT’s role as a key growth enabler
  • Work closely with the IT extended leadership team and program/project managers to align resourcing strategies to enterprise goals; includes understanding and addressing unique challenges that each stakeholder faces in their roles to build effective partnerships that foster collaborative resource planning
  • Facilitate conversations between CIO and IT leaders regarding talent needs and gaps across portfolios for data-driven workforce planning aligned with enterprise goals
  • Work with CIO, Director of Strategic Projects, and stakeholders to define and design process for talent insourcing and outsourcing; own process for hiring and managing contract resources across internal teams, program leaders, and external vendors
  • Partner with CIO, Director of Strategic Projects, IT leaders, and functional program/project managers to develop strategy and phased approach to build an IT department PMO

 

Candidate requirements:

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience, including strong project management skills, and proven ability to successfully build and implement critical capacity management strategies aligned to annual planning processes
  • Works effectively at the C-Level and with leadership teams across the organization by leading through influence and driving for results
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with adaptability to work with people from various cultures and areas of the business; builds and maintains highly effective working relationships; has a comprehensive and well-developed network
  • Continuously adapts to changes and effectively navigates through ambiguity; decides and acts without having the picture totally defined; appropriately changes one’s strategy in response to new information
  • Applies systems thinking to generate new thoughts and opportunities; has ability to build on and implement strategic and innovative thoughts and ideas

 

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $125,793- $145,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
