Job Description:

You will join Vail Resorts’ Information Security team for a summer internship helping to mature our Governance, Risk and Compliance processes and tooling. The GRC team are the gatekeepers and stewards of managing technology risk and ensuring compliance to our Information Technology and Privacy obligations. You will be part of a dynamic team and exposed to multiple parts of the organization as key stakeholders from IT, Legal, Marketing, Operations, etc. are instrumental to our success. Specific responsibilities could include:

  • Supporting the development or improvement of process documentation
  • Supporting, developing or delivering training on key GRC processes or tooling
  • Assisting in the execution of third-party vendor security risk assessments
  • Assisting in the execution of IT project risk assessments
  • Participating in the SDLC Lifecycle of application development (Assess, Design, Build, Test, and Deploy)


Preferred Skills:

  • Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or other majors with an interest in Information Security and/or Risk Management
  • Must be team oriented with a high level of professionalism
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Holds self accountable to meet commitments
  • Ability to collaborate with others to get work done and achieve stated objectives
  • Understands the need to be flexible and adapt in real time to match different situations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with technology frameworks and standards such as: NIST, COBIT, ISO/IEC, PCI DSS, etc. a plus, but not required
