SUMMARY OF JOB:  

The Director of Benefits is responsible for developing the overall design, development and implementation of Vail Resorts benefits programs. In this role, you will focus on utilizing insights and data to design and deliver benefit and wellness programs for our different employee groups. The position will drive new benefits and wellness offerings enterprise-wide which will allow us to hire and retain top talent. This role will develop, coordinate, and execute initiatives aligned with our Talent strategy. This role will have 3 direct reports and lead a team of 5 benefits and wellness professionals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop roadmap for benefits strategy enterprise wide
  • Assess, develops and implements the company’s benefits programs including 401(k) retirement plans, time off, leave of absences, health/medical/dental/vision coverage, vendor management, wellness programs, life and disability.
  • Develops programs to educate employees on company benefits plans and changes
  • Provides input and guidance on strategic roadmap on direction of innovative wellness programs
  • Lead annual benefit renewals and open enrollment process
  • Leads and develops benefits team members to ensure efficient operation of function
  • Stays current and ensures all laws and regulations are followed and the company remains compliant

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • Prior experience with designing benefits and wellness programs
  • Minimum 10 years benefits or related experience, preferably in a medium-large company
  • 3+ years managing others
  • Self-driven and capable of working with senior leaders, members of the HR team, and cross-functional partners throughout the company
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills.

 

The budgeted range starts at $125,500 - $156,900 + annual bonus + equity.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
