The Director, Corporate FP&A plays a critical role in shaping enterprise financial insight, planning, and performance at Vail Resorts. This leader helps translate strategy into financial outcomes—driving clarity, rigor, and actionable insight across planning, forecasting, and executive decision support. Operating at the center of the enterprise, the role partners closely with senior leadership to develop the company’s financial narrative, assess performance, and support capital allocation and growth priorities. The Director leads a high-performing team and serves as a key steward of enterprise financial planning processes, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and strategic alignment. Reporting to the VP, Enterprise FP&A, this role combines analytical depth with strong communication and leadership capability to influence decisions at the highest levels of the organization.

  • Starting Wage: $145,000 - $175,000 + annual bonus + equity

Job Responsibilities:

Enterprise Financial Planning & Insight

  • Lead enterprise-wide planning processes, including long-range planning, annual budgets, and forecasting
  • Translate complex financial results into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership
  • Assess business performance, risks, and opportunities with a focus on long-term value creation

 

Strategic Partnership & Decision Support

  • Partner with senior leaders to support strategic initiatives, growth priorities, and capital allocation decisions
  • Provide an enterprise perspective to balance short-term performance with long-term outcomes
  • Deliver thoughtful financial framing and scenario analysis to guide decision-making

 

Executive Communication & Narrative

  • Develop and deliver materials for the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and investors
  • Shape and communicate the enterprise financial story with clarity and credibility
  • Ensure alignment and consistency across internal and external messaging

 

People & Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing team of finance professionals
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness

 

Process & Capability Development

  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of FP&A
  • Strengthen tools, reporting, and operating cadence to enable high-quality decision support
  • Promote best practices and elevate financial acumen across the organization

Job Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in FP&A or strategic finance with increasing leadership responsibility
  • Proven ability to support executive decision-making and communicate complex insights clearly
  • Strong analytical rigor paired with excellent business judgment
  • Experience leading teams and developing high-performing talent
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CFA, or advanced degree preferred

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $145,000 - $175,000 + annual bonus + equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
