Job Summary:

In this role, you will be part of the team that drives profitable revenue strategies for Vail Resorts.  You will be working with the team to balance the financial objectives of different lodging products ranging from traditional hotels, both branded and independent, to luxury villas and condos.  These properties will be located in one or more markets.  Business units may include transportation and/or other activities as assigned.  Your goal will be to implement revenue strategies to maximize revenue and profit, while effectively communicating that strategy to your team and stakeholders. 


Key accountability for rate loading, channel parity, distribution relationship, property-level inventory management relationship, system knowledge, short-term strategy and communications.  Support the execution of segment strategies to include group, transient, and wholesale.  Strong emphasis on systems knowledge, market knowledge, relationships with stakeholders & market-based teams.  Accuracy & attention-to-detail and a willingness to learn systems are essential to success in this role. 


As a member of the revenue strategy team, you have beginner to intermediate knowledge in MS Excel and are able to gather, manipulate, and format data.  You also have or are willing and able to learn hotel and property management systems experience or expertise.  Your ultimate goal is to drive profitable RevPAR for your portfolio through collaborative decision making with your team and stakeholders.  You are open to and recognize the need for change and continuous improvement. 


Job Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with group quote evaluations to ensure profitability for all Vail Resorts markets.
  • Implementation of in-season strategies for assigned properties with a focus on rates and restriction strategy and communications with distribution team.
  • Assist inventory and property teams with maintaining proper room inventory availability.
  • Manage hospitality distribution systems and property management systems to ensure that revenue and profits are maximized. 
  • Primary Accountability for:
    • Rate & Restriction implementation
    • Distribution Parity
    • Inventory, Restriction, and Connectivity expert to other revenue management functions
    • Systems knowledge and experience
    • Front office & operations relationships point-of-contact
    • Competitive shopping and market intelligence


  • Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in Distribution, Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Leads, participates and contributes to strategy meetings as needed.
  • Support department with on-boarding new technologies. 
  • Ensuring that Vail Resorts policies and principles are adhered to. 
  • Other tasks as assigned. 


Job Qualifications:


  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business, Finance, Economics, or Hotel Management AND 1-3 years of experience in a hospitality related field.


  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business, Finance, Economics, or Hotel Management
  • Minimum 1 year of within the hospitality industry, preferably within revenue management, reservations, front office, sales, or distribution disciplines. 



  • Experience with MS Office applications, PMS Systems (IQWare/V1); Extranet management; SynXis, Inntopia, Business Intelligence tools, Delphi FDC, and other Hospitality Industry comparison tools.
  • Experience working with Luxury Condominiums, Homes, and Hotels a plus
  • Experience working with seasonal resort environment a plus
  • Strong decision making capabilities in a fast paced & growing environment. 
  • Detail oriented on assigned tasks and able to follow through to a conclusion. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a virtual/in-person team environment. 
  • Ability to convey and execute Revenue Management concepts, tactics, and processes. 
  • Driven by curiosity to grow knowledge base.  
  • Knowledge of hotel and vacation rental inventory dynamics. 
  • Strong understanding of the sales process, both group and transient. Condo management knowledge is a plus.  


The budgeted range starts at $50,000 - $60,900.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
